"Imagination is more important than knowledge." *******************************************# It is said that IMAGINAION is the most powerful force of the World’s achievements. A person must store in their mind a picture of what they plan to create or the person they want to be, this is more important than knowledge. Imagination is the collection of ideas in the brain where all plans are organised and created. “ It is said a person can create anything they can imagine.” As Napoleon Hill said: “Whatever the mind of a person can conceive and believe they can achieve.” As Beecher said: “The soul without imagination is what an observatory would be without a telescope.” The persons only limitations, within reason is in their development and use of their imagination and to the future motivation to action. Aha, Imagination, one of Gods greatest gifts. Now wether imagination is more important than knowledge, is a tough one. The way I see it, they are just as equally important and need to go hand in hand. As it is the gaining of knowledge that so oftens spurs my imagination to dream. Yet without imagination how does one even attempt something before the knowledge of it is gained? I think the most important key to this concept has been left out though and that is ACTION! For of what value is either imagination or knowledge if we DO NOTHING WITH IT? Think it! Learn it! Do It! May your day be filled with Smiles and Good Cheer!

I think its true, without imagination, these great people would not have come up with the knowledge, but without the knowledge they possess, i don't think they are able to come up with that kind of imagination. On the other end of the scale, Kids have great imagination, but their knowledge are limited, and for them, they use their imagination to create and learn knowledge as time goes by. I'm getting confused here, i think i'm not making sense, but i think: Knowledge is like bricks, and Imagination is what becomes of the bricks. hmmm... does that make sense? I don't know... i need a coffee....

Wow, what a group of great responses! As usual Bogdan, you have come up with a quote that opens peoples minds to possibilities. In regard to this, I like the quotes "Whatever you perceive, and believe, you can achieve." And "What you see is what you get" in this framework implies that we all constantly use our imagination, and that's what got us what we've got. If we don't like what we got, by changing what we imagine we will change what we've got. But I think it's wise to "imagine gracefully." Many of those who "imagined themselves" as ruler of the world died violently. Alas, there are those who believe a life without violent battle for dominance is a boring life not worth living. May we be so blessed that none of them read or understand the wisdom expressed here. :-) Steve Chichester Empowering Pro*active People
