Curiosity... Which group are you in? (anonymous, of course)
11/1/2006 11:12:53 PM

Hi!

Presumably, most of us 'discovered' Adland because we were looking to promote something. After all, it is a classified ad site called AD Land.

So, I'm curious to know how we're all doing! And, since almost no one wants to talk dollars in public, I thought I'd post an anonymous poll. How are your online sales/profits/earnings?

Hi Linda,

The majority of my sales come from actual contact "offline", even though the services are "online" based. First of all, not many have actually grasped the concept of Online Streaming media and it's capabilities. It's still so new and many are absolutely frightened of the technical side of it. In having the ability to Show offline contacts, the results are much higher.

As far as Adland goes, I think more people spend time having Fun then promoting. Because fun is what people pay attention to. Adland is full of people "tire kicking" different programs. Surfing, traffic exchange, pyramids etc. Are a large base of Adland program promotions. Especailly with Newbies, but not limited to them. And even more are trying to promote an abundance of differnet programs at once. I personally don't see how anyone can succeed concentrating on so many things.

In a nutshell, from my prospective, Adland attracts people looking for "Free". That's how I found it. Searching for Free online advertising. That was in '03 when I was a raw newbie. I have since learned that the old saying is true, "It takes money to make money". Free online advertising CAN bring some results. But usually not those that are willing to spend to earn.

Let's face it. You can build free websites, obtain free advertising, Network for free. But who get's results from free? The only thing free has gotten me is a "freebie seeker" list. People looking for a free business. Not a real business. Real businesses do cost money to start and maintain. I'm sure I'll get arguments on this one. But that's just My reality.

Just my2cents.

Hi Linda

As much as I agreed with Angela's comment that more people spend time having fun in the Adland Forum than promoting, I totally disagree with her perception about Adland community as "tired kicking" different programs. Surfing, traffic exchange and looking for freebies online.

Adland to my opinion is full of energic people wanting to have fun to help release the pressure of running internet business. There are lot of people there working hard day and night trying to build successful business and their efforts should be commended

Adland have members with great business ideas and experiences shared in this forum that have benefited new and old members it's  community to get started with their online business. I can understand that most of us are trying to learn the concept of internet marketing and Adland is a vital source of information.

At Adland, people do not just surf for free online ads they also surf for information not readily available to enable them to run their businesses. I can't rule out there are no freebie seekers, there will always be but one point you're missing is that Adlands runs paid ads as well and not just free ads.

Hi Linda,

I have no problem discussing dollars and cents in public, but I won't if others aren't.

My business is just about a year old and I have all the patience in the world. I know I can do this, but it doesn't happen without perseverance.

And so, I shall persevere. LOL

Thank you, Linda.

Your Good Friend
