Re: HAPPY FATHERS DAY !!

Hello Pauline My Sweet Friend!  8)

This is an awesome post my friend!

Thanks for helping us Fathers feel special on this day.

One of my favorite posts of yours was the one you posted when I was just getting to know you and it was about a dance you had with your Father. I think you mentioned some connection with the song "Last Dance With My Father". Well, the other day I was remembering about that post you made and it dawned on me that my daughter and I had a very special dance too when she was still living with me. It was not to long after my divorce and my daughter and I were kinda blue, I could tell she needed some cheering up. I knew how much she enjoyed music and she was a bit of show off, not shy at all, so I set up the video camera in the living room and I put on some of our favorite music and we both danced together in front of camera. We had a blast! It is one of my fondest memories of her and I together spending some quality time. I can't wait to here from her today, she lives in another state so I don't get to see her often but she calls when she's missing me.  :-)

Thanks again for this awesome forum!  ;-)

Love ya!  ;-)

Thanks Pauline for the forum.
There are so many obviously great dads out there in our community.
A lot of men historically have taken the title "Dad" for granted-
For some that means send the money. Period.
For others they do take for granted that "Dad" is their most important job.
It is.
Happy Father's Day, speaking for myself-women who did not have the 2nd kind of Dad-greatly admire you; you show what is available for our girls to aspire to for mates.

Hi Pauline,

What great nostalgia!  The movie "Shall we Dance" was very special to me as it reminded me of how my dad taught me to dance as a very young girl.  We started by me standing on his feet.  I miss my Dad - especially on Father's day!

Thanks for the great forum, my friend.  Have a blessed day!

Pauline,

I knew I would need tissues on hand to read your father's day message.
As a child of a single mother, I took special pains to make sure my children experienced a father, as I had not had that.

On my daughter's 16th birthday, her dad-(we were divorced since she wa in the womb)-serenaded her by playing piano and singing "Happy Birthday Sweest 16".
I cried so much because when I had given custody to the father, I had prayed that my daughter would be validated as special by the first man in her life.

He still stops by her store to take her to lunch, turning heads being escorted by such a distinguished gentleman!

Your relationship with your Dad warms my heart as well.
