What phone co. are you with? I had the same problem last week with my DSL. Sprint/ Embark, they came out and the lines tested out okay. I have a Sony computer, he (the telephone man) told me to check with them and also Microsoft for a windows problem. As soon as Sony gave me the new drivers and upgrades it has been working better. I'm still waiting on Microsoft to get back to me
The week end before I had virus problems, 17 of them. Norton couldnt fix them. I had to do a recovery to get rid of them. I hate doing that. Even backing everything up I still seem to loose a lot of my files.
