Re: Who is Pastor Lynn Feaster?

Hello Anthony,

Yes, we also received an invitation of friendship and this same message.  I have no real thoughts whether this person is trying to scam or not.

I accepted friendship and declined to answer Pastor Lynn on the contents of the message.

My personal reasons being 'Charity begins at home'.  I use to see such a lot of homeless people standing on the street corners when we lived back in Eugene/Springfield Oregon that I know there are many others all over the States that need our assistance first.

I would much prefer to help people from countries who have helped us personally and as a country.

I know that people in Africa and many other underprivilged countries need help, yet my their own Government will not lift a finger to help them and even to the point that these Heads of State will spend millions of dollars to entertain lavishly other representatives from other countries and or spend on arms etc while their own people are starving.

These countries Governments know that other countries will come in to help - Then you have the thieves who kill and steal the trucks contents to sell on the Black Market.

I am sorry if I have offended anyone on my view point, I just feel that to send money to these countries I would be actually condoning their actions to use the Countries Funds on wasteful expenditure that is not as important as feeding or building water wells and other esentials their people need.

Kind regards

Lisa.

I have just tried to have a personal chat with the lady concerned but she did not want to answer the questions I asked her. She said she did not know how to use the Internet or how the protocol is here at Aldandpro. She said she needed help & when I tried to help her she did not answer me anymore & left.

I said at the begining of this post that this lady may well be genuine, or she may not & brought the email to everyones attention as I had received quite a few emails about it from members who thought this was another scam. Maybe it is because I said to the pastor that not having anything in her profile tended to send up red flags to the community as scammers do not offer much information about themselves that she now has something on her profile.

If the lady is genuine, then maybe she should just ask people to join her friends list, then let them see the good work she is trying to do. unfortunately the email she sent out is to much of 'type' that we all receive too often.

Anthony.

Anthony,

Sure glad to see you posting messages again!

I have been meaning to write to you to see how you were enjoying your new home.

Pastor Lynn is on my friends list and I will be tracking her actions.

I did visit her web site and looked around. she has quite a bit of information on her ministry at the site.

Okay Anthony,

I understand you are the security guy, but let this one go!

I explained by private message that Pastor Lynn did not know how to use the computer, and I personally walked her through the profile building!

I also told you that she would be posting when she gets in from Church!  So what is it?  This is getting rather ugly.

Larry we are not all born with computer skills, and with no one to tell you different, how is one to know what to do when they get here?  Sure they can look around and click here and there for a answer, but it is very easy and human to make an error.  Let's not take this to another level.

You are allowed an error, let it go!

You are correct, the email was similar to what the Nigerian Ring sends out, however she did not ask for money, and only said if you WANTED more information to send an email to the autoresponder!  Now I am not an Einstein, but this indicates to me, if someone chose to do this they would get a series of letters about this investment program!  At which point you either 1.  Don't activate the autoresponder, and go about your business.  2. Activate the autoresponder and see what type of messages you get.  3.  Do nothing at all and still go about your business.  Then if something comes up where people are being solicited or harassed in some way take the appropiate action!

Anyone who did not want to accept her as a friend should have just denied the invitation!  Simple process final result!

Those Nigerian letters have been going around the net forever, and they are not just Nigerian, I have received italian, Barovian, and a whole slew of other so called Princes, Princesses, Kings and a Queen or two of different Nationalities!

As for the emails you're getting, well you have been tagged the security guy of Adland, so you would be a logical choice for people to contact, however seeing all the information Lisa, and others have been able to find, it would behoov us all to do our due diligence when a question arises!  Would'nt you agree!

Hi Anthony,

Well now I am really confused.

First of all we get a no photo profile with nearly no info on it - and a strange invitation with a lot of advertising from someone who has managed to invite 168 people to be friends at Adland in less than a week.  And on top of that, some links on that invitation to some well set up websites that include links to Adland all over the place.   Judging from the invite ´this person has some considerable experience of internet marketing.

It is understandable that people get nervous.when they receive invites like this, with all the scamming that goes on on the Web. No one wants to think badly, but they want to protect themselves.  I received a personalized version of the same invite as you did - it had a different beginning - and i didn't feel at all comfortable with it at all. It was a very professional ad - with lots of working links and an anonymous profile.

Now the profile has been filled in properly. Maybe someone in Cleveland can tell us  who these people are, or better still, the Pastor can  come to this forum to explain all this.  If she doesn't understand about internet, someone does, because the sites are well put together and linked to Adland - maybe they can help her to post and clear this up once and for all.

Saludos
Jenny

p.s. I went to the Reverence Dave's profile and invited him to join my friends list - this gentleman clearly does some very valuable work and it is a pleasure to see people like him at AdlandPro.
