Hi everybody. I would like to say that I am deeply touched by the wonderful and completely understanding responses that I have received in this forum. I would like to say that, but as you all know by now, I have been touched before, and I didn't like it. Okay, back in the can. The day after this forum went up, I was headed to the store. It was two miles away and we don't have a car, so I walked. Along the way, I pass through a Toys 'R Us parking lot. As I approached the parking lot, a van pulled in and turned to find a parking place. On the side panel was a sign that said "Help Samantha Recover" I did not have much money as I had to go to the ATM once I got to the store, but I did have a dollar. I approached the woman who had gotten out of the van handed her the dollar and apologized for such a meager amount. She smiled and said that it would all ad up. I asked what was wrong with Samantha who was about ten years old and looked perfectly healthy and had a wonderful smile and twinkle in her eye when I turned and said Hi to her. Her mother said that she had been in a car accident which left her parilized from the waist down. Evidently it had been a hit and run. As I walked away I heard Samantha tell her mother that that was a nice thing for him to do. I immediately thought of what a nice thing my friends at AdlandPro Community did for me by understanding. I also thought that it was a good thing that I didn't have a fifty dollar bill on me, because I may have given that as well.
Of all the parts of the human body, this one seems to be the most vulnerable. It is broken so easily. Although I was hit in the mouth with a Golf Club, it does not stop me from loving to play golf. Besides, at least now I know where the club is.
Embrace a new friend every day. Don't look at color, race, or clothing. Look at the person's eyes and lips. Above all, look into their hearts. You will find that differences can and will be interesting. A very dear friend of millions of people around the world died yesterday. He did so doing what he loved to do. Steve Erwin was loved by the entire world because he loved his life, he helped many charitable organizations and he was comical, but above all else he treated everybody just the way he wanted to be treated. God Bless our Hero.
God Bless each and every one of you. I'll be back, so keep the posts coming.
Mike
