Great quote Bogden.

I have been on both sides of the fence. I have been extreemly poor
in money, and when I had a high level management position,
I had a lot of power. I never abused it.

If I had any regrets from either, it was not having control of
things that affected me negatively. I supported my subordinates
and went to bat for them when they were being questioned.
Most of the time, I won.

One of my fellow managers made the remark "I can't stand to have
Robert in the meetings. No one can argue with him"

They could not argue, because I supported my comments
with facts that were undeniable. One can not argue with
verifiable facts. Having the Chairman of the Board as a friend
did not hurt either.

Hello Bogdan

Thanks so much for the opportunity to post.

That quote by Abraham Lincoln is so is correct. Give him power (MONEY) and observe his character.

Bogdan,

How true!

Many times in the 70 years I have been here I have watched peoples character change when they are placed in a position of authority!

Hi Bogdan, I was surprised that quote is one of Abe Lincon's - It reads as contemporary as any public talker who gets 5 figures for his gift of gab. But when I saw it was ole Abe and felt the historical context of his words I paused and realized that all of us were recepients of power and responsibility when we came of age - power of free will and decisions that affect the lives of ourselves and loved ones. I have an utter abhorence of 'power' as an attribute one would want to attain or cultivate. I have no idea where that comes from. Maybe from a former lifetime? I may have grossly misused the powers given to me !! LOL ; ^ ) Have a wonderful week, Beth
