Marilyn, you are a great woman. A long time ago in my humility
I decided to not accept gifts from people because I wanted to
make sure that when I did kind things that my generosity
would show when I didn't expect any reciprocation.

Then I read somewhere that a great man who was quite
wealthy had written a piece about acceptance. He said -
"Whenever someone honors you by giving you a gift,
simply accept it and say thank you."

I learned that love bears gifts that are not always of
the tangeble. But even when they are physical
that it honors both you and they that are giving.

Hi Marilyn, Great News!!! I've been told that in order to give, we must be able to receive. Have you ever shopped for the perfect gift for someone and they refused it because they didn't feel they deserved the gift? How can we give back to others if they haven't learned to receive it? How many of us refuse God's Gifts because we haven't learned to accept our own worth. Marilyn, you have every right to accept the Love & thanks adlanders are trying to give you. Marilyn, I'm fairly new here so I don't know you that well, however I AM DEEPLY MOVED by this message and respect what you've said. I'm afraid that I probaly wouldn't have the strength to take the stand you've taken and this moves me to DEEPLY respect the stand you've taken.
