What do you Want?
The first step in getting started is to know, clearly, what it is you want.
Simple, but not always easy.
It's not likely we'll hit a target if we don't know where or what the target is. Being clear about what we want gives our mind a target to focus on, and, as most of us intuitively know, we tend to get more of what we focus on. Another way to put it is: energy flows where attention goes. The first step, then, to getting into momentum is to know what to focus ON, what and where to invest your attention and creative energies.
It can help to talk with a trusted friend or skilled professional (a coach, etc.) to discuss different possibilities for what you want. For the sake of this e-course, I'd suggest not laboring over it, but simply pick something as a place to start, to give you a chance to learn the process.
The key question for step # 1 is: What do I want?
Warnings:
A. Sometimes, we're at a point in our work and lives where it's OK NOT to know what we want, but simply enjoy exploring the options. This is especially useful at times of transition, such as selling a business, a child leaving home, changing careers, health changes, etc. Enjoy this time.... and watch out!: 'exploring the options' can become a place you spend the rest of your life in, stuck, pretending you're doing something worthwhile, all the time spinning your wheels.
If you notice you've been 'exploring' what you want for quite some time and you're now ready to actually have what you want, then get clarity about this first step and move on to step 2.
B. Many people are experts at what they DON'T want, but don't know what they WANT. If it's easier to list all the things you don't want, then look at this question: What's missing from my work and life, the presence of which would lead to greater satisfaction, fulfillment and happiness?
Frame your answers in the positive, write them down and make that what you want.
C. The degree to which you're disconnected from what you want, to that degree you'll be upset in some way, shape or form. If you find yourself upset or angry a lot, it's because either you haven't yet decided what you want... or aren't focusing on it consistently.
Fieldplay:
Three useful questions for clarity on this first step are:
1 What dream (or dreams) want to come out of you?
2 What have you been dreaming of doing for years, but have put off for one reason or another?
3 If you could have anything you wanted, regardless of cost, time, health or energy, what would it be? Get very specific and detailed.
I suggest you write down what you want. Writing it down gets it out of your head and makes it more real.
Oh, one more thing.... on a scale of 1-100, with 100 being extraordinary momentum and 1 being very little, how much momentum are you experiencing generally in your work and life, now?
Write this down and save it for comparison at the end of the e-course.
*** Final comments:
The truth is that sometimes we simply don't know what we want in a given situation.... and that's OK. We are, after all, human.
For the sake of this e-course, pick something you want, so that you can use that as a target to aim for to get into momentum BY CHOICE.
My suggestion is to aim BIG and have fun! No one succeeds beyond their wildest expectations unless they begin with some wild expectations!
If you're not sure it's what you want, don't worry. In my experience with this process, you'll eventually eliminate what you don't really want and get much greater clarity about what you want.

BOASTING RIGHTS
Four friends, who hadn't seen each other in 30 years, reunited at a party. After several drinks, one of the men had to use the rest room. Those who remained started talking about their kids.
The first guy said, "My son is my pride and joy. He started working at a successful company at the bottom of the barrel. He studied Economics and Business Administration and soon began to climb the corporate ladder and now he's the president of the company. He became so rich that he gave his best friend a top of the line Mercedes for his birthday."
The second guy said, "Darn, that's terrific! My son is also my pride and joy. He started working for a big airline, and then went to flight school to become a pilot. Eventually he became a partner in the company, where he owns the majority of its assets. He's so rich that he gave his best friend a brand new jet for his birthday."
The third man said: "Well, that's terrific! My son studied in the best universities and became an engineer. Then he started his own construction company and is now a multimillionaire. He also gave away something very nice and expensive to his best friend for his birthday: A 30,000 square foot mansion."
The three friends congratulated each other just as the fourth returned from the restroom and asked: "What are all the congratulations for?"
One of the three said: "We were talking about the pride we feel for the successes of our sons.
What about your son?"
The fourth man replied: "My son is gay and makes a living dancing as a stripper at a nightclub." The three friends said: "What a shame...what a disappointment."
The fourth man replied: "No, I'm not ashamed. He's my son and I love him. And he hasn't done too bad either. His birthday was two weeks ago, and he received a beautiful 30,000 square foot mansion, a brand new jet, and a top of the line Mercedes from his three boyfriends."

A COMPASS FOR LIFE’S JOURNEY
A compass is a useful directional tool, which is designed always to point toward the North Pole. Using it, travelers can determine whether they are moving due north or in another direction. In the kingdom of God, the Bible is the compass and it always points one way—toward God Himself. To walk “due north” is to follow the path of righteousness. Let’s consult our compass, using Proverbs 3 to receive practical guidance for daily living. The first step in using a compass is to look at it. Daily study of the Scriptures will keep us headed in the right direction. Following biblical principles allows us to weather difficult storms and still remain on course. God promises to prosper those who keep His commands. (verses 1-2) Second, the truth of God’s Word is to be our only standard for living. In particular, relationships with others are to be marked by loving kindness. Our reward will be divine favor and a good reputation in the sight of both God and man. (verses 3-4) Third, our compass tells us to trust God wholeheartedly, even when circumstances perplex us and our choices are distasteful. We are to let go of human reasoning and put the Lord and His ways first. (verse 5) Fourth, the Bible can shed light on any situation we face, whether it has to do with finances, concerns, relationships, or work. Trusting God and getting answers from Him rather than from the world will bring blessing. (verse 6) As Christians, we want to keep moving “due north.” Is that the direction you are taking?
RECIPE
COCONUT BREAD
Ingredients
4 cups sweetened Flaked Coconut (10 oz)
2 cups Self-Rising Flour (not cake flour)
1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted Butter, softened
½ cup Sugar
2 large Eggs
Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter and flour a 9- by 5- by 3-inch loaf pan, knocking out excess flour.
Toast and grind coconut: Spread 3 cups coconut in a large shallow baking pan (1 inch deep) and toast in middle of oven, stirring occasionally, until evenly golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes. (Watch flakes carefully; edges burn quickly.) Cool completely in pan on a rack, about 15 minutes, then grind in a food processor to a coarse meal, about 40 seconds (you will have about 1 1/4 cups). Leave oven on.
Make batter: Stir together self-rising flour, ground coconut, and remaining cup (untoasted) coconut in a large bowl. Beat together butter and sugar in another bowl with an electric mixer at medium speed until pale and creamy, 1 to 2 minutes. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Whisk 1 cup water into flour mixture, then add egg mixture, whisking just until well blended.
Bake bread: Pour batter into loaf pan, smoothing top with a spatula, and bake in middle of oven until a wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean and top is evenly brown, 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes. Cool bread to warm in pan on a rack, 10 to 15 minutes, then turn out of pan and set right side up on rack to cool completely, about 2 hours more. Cut into 1-inch-thick slices.
Note: Bread can be served the day it is made, but it slices more easily if kept, wrapped in plastic wrap, at room temperature 1 day.
