Hello Kathy,

You sound so kind. You said:

========
my logic which is mine is, I always want to see what someone else has or is offering.That is how I do business,Is'nt networking about personal relationships?that stranger ,may just become your best friend
========

Maybe you would like to have some of my unwanted offerings from other folks. I have no need for them. Let's see:

I have:

  • a phony PhD or Doctorate Certificate that somebody wants to sell me for JUST $495 - that's a winner,
  • a bridge somewhere that I am being offered shares in - sounds OK - oops it WAS in Iraq (scrub that),
  • a letter from a gentleman in Nigeria who wants to give me a slice of deposed General Oomooboogooloo's US$25 million fortune - a PROVEN performer,
  • a plastic bag full of GENUINE air from the World Soccer Cup stadium in Germany - very useful,
  • a block on the moon - could be great if one could build a home there in the next 100 years.

These are all wonderful opportunities. Unfortunately, I, personally, have no need for them. However, I can pass them on to anybody who would like them.

Any takers?

I think these are the things that people are talking about.

Legitimate emails and true PM's where people just want to converse about something are no problem at all.

Sorry Gary,
But I'm positive I'M getting General Oomooboogooloo's fortune! I was specially selected for my good heart if I'm not mistaken.

Well, I guess we could share it!
Have a good one.

Hi...

Heh, heh, heh.... too funny. I was *sure* they offered that to ME... but maybe I got the spelling of his name wrong? Might be someone else.... lol

If someone asks me nicely to look at what they have to offer-I do so with pleasure. I'm open minded and might just be interested. BUT-if someone shoves an ad at me before or without saying anything else-I delete. I'm in my home so the people I choose to interact with, are people I feel I would sit down and have coffee or tea with.

Bravo....

Yes, networking IS about personal relationships. In my humble opinion, a personal relationship does not begin by sending things like these....

  • $1,000 Daily or Automated $1,000,000's: Both are HOT!
  • Grab A Thousand $$$ In The Next 48 Hours
  • Make Money Now!
  • Zero-Cost Business Networking
  • ~*~ Powerful concept.. try it Fre*e Today!! ~*~
  • Make a SIX FIgure Income!

These are some of the actual *gems* from my Adland inbox. Seriously, who sends stuff like that? Would you send that to your best friend? Your Mom? Your sister? No?  (I sure hope not.) So why send it to anyone else?

Is that the first step to building a relationship or a friendship?  I think not.

: )

Hi!

You know - sometimes fate or karma (or people) just throw things in my lap. lol. I just got this message.... (more below)

Why on earth would I dignify this with a reply?
Did he bother to even use my name? Nope.
Did he bother to say anything personal? Nope?
He just spit an ad into my inbox.

I share ideas and urls with my *real* friends quite often... but this isn't how we do it. lol. This kind of message is what delete buttons are for. But I will not send a polite reply - all I'd be doing is showing him he can send junk and people will accept it and be polite, too.

Heh, heh... Joyce...

Good on you for joining in with my madness.

It is the only way that I can come to terms with a lot of the dribble that seeps into my inbox. It's cow slobber. Ever seen a big goop of slobber dribbling out of the mouth of a cow? A big gooby one that kind of yo-yo's from the cow's mouth right down to the ground and then half way back. Ker-plunk. In the freezing temperatures sometimes they solidify. Well, that's how I see it. Oh, I know others must be getting it too.

Hey Linda, look at all those examples that you used from ACTUAL emails sent by the "mini-me" marketers.

NONE of them inspire anyone with any sense to investigate further. People are now SO skeptical on the internet. And why shouldn't they be? Crooks no longer need to pull on a balaclava to rob somebody. They do it with their keyboard to unsuspecting newbies. That is what I rail against, incessantly.

Here is how I read the above, in order:

  1. Get in quick so I can take your money
  2. I'm appealing to your sense of greed - and stupidity
  3. Quick - before it's all gone
  4. Nothing up front - but we'll get you later - FOR SURE!
  5. Don't worry about what it IS - it's FREE - so who cares?
  6. I'm not, but I'm trying to suck you into thinking that I can show you how.

Finally,

==========
"Seriously, who sends stuff like that? Would you send that to your best friend?"

Spoonheads.
