Thanks for this information. I have also been involved with POETRY.COM & smelled something rotten when I got the information about the contest and they wanted $695US for the Conference and then it would cost me air fare & hotel (3 days) to attend. I called them and said I wold not be able to attend. I thought if they were an honest group, they would read poems for people like myself & others who could not attend. Instead I read where they wanted to charge to read your poetry. I knew then, they were all about the money and not the poetry.

I did receive a small EDITOR'S CHOICE AWARD certificate for my poetry. Not sure if will buy the book (just to have) but will go no further with them.

If you read some of the responses, some have bought the book and had trouble finding their own poem. Never, Never, Never pay for something that you should get paid for. Do you pay your boss to work in the office?

For the people who are writing books, stories and poetry I am giving a site who will put you name on Google or MSN Search for free. If you do a Google seach with nicksym or MSN seach with nicksym you will see I have like 8 or 9 pages on each at no cost to me.
