I use http://www.callingid.com , it is a free program that gives you information about a company/website/person.  I know there are other ways to verify whether or not a company/website/person is legitimate, just don't remember what they are.  There are people here at AdlandPro that could pass on that information.

In answer to Kathy's question-there is no way to protect against this problem whether it is an online business or a brick and mortar one.

Do you remember when store closed down with peoples things left in "lay-away"?

Once again-its your own responsibility to not spend money impulsively and go in with the expectation that it can and might go away without warning.

Remember, these are people working from home trying to find a way to make things work-(just like in the real world).

All the same rules of common sense  apply.

Well, ask the people who were in Excel... sometimes you can't protect yourself. 

What Tim and I did 4 years ago was investigate INDEBTH the history of the company, we interviewed tons of people, and I stepped out in faith with a sponsor we hand picked.  Seeing HER success, we knew she could help get us to where we wanted to go financially.....    Hundreds of thousands of dollars later, I know we did "OK"!!!! 

Scary tho when we risk OUR income and even more important our REPUTATION ..... and the company is up and gone....  BEEN THERE DONE THAT with MLMS.....
