Hello To All My Fellow Adlanders!
I have just been sitting here watching a show on Public Television that is honoring soldiers all over the world in all branches of the service! They have stories about soldiers that were in WW I and WW II, the Korean war, the Viet Nam war, and of course the war in Iraq.
After sitting here and hearing so many sad, and touching stories, that have brought me to tears, I decided I needed to tell all soldiers how much we appreciate them and the sacrifics they have made in the name of freedom!
So, this forum goes out to the families of soldiers that have served, or are serving, and the soldiers themselves. I dedicate this to all of them!
I just want to share with you one of the stories that I just heard very briefly. A soldier that served in Iraq tells this story; his battalion was traveling on a dirt road in Iraq when all of a sudden he saw a bright flash of yellow light. The next thing he knew the tank in front of him, with 7 of his fellow soldiers was gone! It had been blown up and flew many feet away, turned over and engulfed in flames. He said remembers just calling one of the soldiers names out and standing there in disbelief...praying that someone would answer him! All 7 of his fellow soldiers had died!
This soldier told a little about each soldier, and it was so sad to hear about each one of them and the plans that they had for their futures. Then one of the soldier's Mother was there and talked about her "baby boy" and the pain and sorrow that she has now and shares with the rest of the fellow soldiers families.
To all of the soldiers, such as Paul Davey, and the rest of you here at Adland, that are serving or haved served I say "Thank You"! Thank you for all that you do every day of your life to serve your country, and for putting your life on the line to protect others from harm!
All of you do this without a second thought, and are always ready and willing to do whatever you have to for your country. It takes a truly special man or woman to do what you all do. You take an oath, and many have died living up to that oath, and I appreciate your bravery and strong beliefs. There are not enough words anyone can truly say to tell you how much we love you, or to let you know how much we appreciate everything that you do! I also think that all of you brave men and women don't hear this enough from people, and for that I apologize because you should be told all the time!
In honor of all of the soldiers all over the world today, and to those that are no longer with us...YOU ARE GREATEST AND I THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!
GOD BLESS YOU & YOUR FAMILIES ALWAYS!
My thoughts and prayers are with all of those serving in war, and I pray that you return home safely!!
