Hello Everyone, It's time Again for The BEST New Forum at AdlandPro that Honors Members of Our Community;
Welcome to *Adland's Weekly Parade Of Stars*! Week# 13
This forum is fun, exciting, and is a much needed addition to the AdlandPro community because we are featuring many great and caring people that may otherwise go unnoticed. That is why our forum is a little different than other ones here at Adland that honor members of our community.
Our forum features a member of the AdlandPro community each week who is truly a bright and shining *STAR*. It is a person that may not necessarily be a "high-profile" person per say, but rather someone that is not only a great friend to many, but also has a good heart and truly cares about others.

Here is ARTHUR'S Bio:
Let me tell you of the two factors in my life that drive me -
Love and Happiness
There is not a day in my life when I cannot remember being loved and being happy. As I have got older I am becoming more and more content and can look back on my life as a great adventure where absolutely NONE of my plans and dreams ever came to fruition.
Did I fail?
Certainly not!
I am one of life's wonderers.
I wonder...........
I don't claim to be an original thinker but I do claim to think.
I am supporting my fourth family and the remains of my first three (to a degree) and it is always a mystery to me that the grief in my life has been so short lived and has never elbowed my happiness out of the frame.
Am I being supported by some entity of which I am not aware? Or am I just lucky in an unfortunate way?
Do I see the hand of God in my life?
I really don't know.
I have suffered berievements, I have killed with knife and gun those attempting to kill me, I have been wealthy and I have been very poor. I have had experiences that defy logic. I have seen things that simply can not happen - but did.
One striking example of LOVE was a time when my father put his finger between my mother's teeth during a particularly frightening seizure. Everybody in the room heard her teeth grind through the bones in his finger - a sound that cleared all but me and my elder brother from the scene. We had to place towels around my mother's head to soak up the blood while my brother supported my father, who was close to passing out from the pain.
When it was all over and my father had recovered his mangled hand, it was clear that the finger was well and truly destroyed.
My father, always a true believer in God, wrapped his hand in a large, red, spotted handkerchief and asked me to get the local Salvation Army guy to say some prayers or do some 'holy magic' and, while I was away, cleaned up the room and got my mother comfortable on the floor with rugs and blankets around her.
I was sent away again and, when I got home, my father was sitting with my mother, on the floor and telling her that because God had made sure he was there to help my mother, God would now make sure that there was someone to help him.
I had only been home for a few minutes when a salesman called from Arthur Mee's Encyclopaedia. As was the way, in those days, he simply knocked on the door and then opened it to let himself in and asked if he could have a word. He soon saw that there was a problem and asked if he could help. I'm not sure quite what transpired because, once again, I was sent out but, on my return, I leaned that I had become the owner of the Encyclopaedia and my father had a very large bandage on his finger. I asked if he wanted me to take him to hospital to get some attention but he simply said it was all right now and he would be going to work the next day as normal. It turned out that the salesman was a faith healer and within a week my father's finger, though some lovely shades of green, purple and blue, was obviously well on the mend.
The salesman became a regular visitor and was often instrumental in calming some of my mother's worst attacks.
I wonder if, as my father believed, God had worked through that man or had things really not been as bad as we feared?
No matter what horror life has thrown at me, I can always see the benefit that came as a result.
Even the heroic surgery that so distorted the way my body works has led to me making many friends that I would never have even considered trying to make - in the homosexual community.
Thirty five years ago homosexuality was a crime and they did all that they could to stay anonymous but because my surgery was particularly traumatic to them, I became (and still am - although I am not called on much nowadays since the stigma has been removed) an advisor and confidante for those who needed the surgery. Many people who would not have had the surgery and died as a result are still alive because I and a few like me were able to speak to them as human beings and explain that you did not end your life by saving it. It has been a great joy for me to see a loving couple leave a hospital after being instrumental in the decision making process.
My own hospital stay was quite prolonged and I was able to read far more copiously than ever before and I have never lost the thirst for information.
My parents' most valuable gifts to me (apart from life, itself, and a degree of love you should all envy me) are my open and enquiring mind and the power to reason.
Throughout all my life love has been my strength and my support.
Happiness has been my most singular achievement.
Mystery has been the seasoning.
Regards
Arthur
