Thanks Anthony, Winfixer is a very bad spyware program. There is a program that I recommend in addition to good spyware, antivirus and that is spywareblaster which helps prevent spyware from infecting systems in the first place. All of the other program that I use help get rid of it after the fact. It can be downloaded from CNet download.com

Hello Anthony, You are so correct about this. Another that is very similar to this is SpyFalcon. Also another threat that is now showing up is in emails that are html. They look like a big webpage laid within the email. Hackers are now embedding little scripts to run within as soon as you open the email. Most antivirus programs will not detect them. And there is an email floating around claiming to be from MS Updates. When you see the email it looks like it's from Microsoft but the links are not to MS Updates. They are to virus programs that will leave you wanting to sell you computer and get a new one. Hackers are getting bolder and wiser than ever before. Hey all, Just read Rebecca's mom's dilemma. The FBI would like to know about this. This is known as a 'forced purchase' and several people have already been arrested by the FBI on similar dilemmas to the victims in the past. I don't have on hand how to contact but have her look up her local FBI office and ask to report internet fraud. They'll be glad to help.
