Hi Anthony, Well I'm all reformatted and reinstalled and updated, now running XP Pro in bothWindows and Office with all the patches, different antivirus and firewall. My antivirus and old firewall let me down. A trojan from SpyFalcon got in and rewrote my winlogon.exe file, a critical file that in needed by windows. I did every trick that all thetechs were trying to remove it but it kept laying 'eggs' in the system and when you thought you got it another egg would hatch and there you are right back to being infected again. And you are so right about being careful of opening anything and be sure to have your system updated with ALL security patches and current antivirus and spyware programs. I did learn that images, jpg's and gif's can be really .exe files in disguise. Yes, an image wouldn't show but the shell program that runs browsers will run the file even with the wrong extension and can cause infection to your system. So be sure of the sites you visit as well. Thanks for coming by and voicing your concerns about this increase in spamming the forums. Take care and talk to ya soon. __________ Newest Release: Podcasting For Fun & Profit! LOL! I'm game... I never stop singin' but as for the garden, we are still being rained upon! My only hope is that my greenhouse gets built this year! Keep on drummin'! Your Oregonian friend, Julia "The Ink Lady"

Hi Ken & Julia. Not to 'steer' your forum of course here Ken, but a lot of the PayPal, E-Bay, & Bank error phishing type emails that are arriving daily to an in-box near you, are in fact jpg or gif files that LOOK like emails. Just clicking the page to scroll down the long email (they make the emals long intentionaly for the users that have got in the habit of clicking the page & using scroll wheel on mouse)causes the virus or worm to be 'allowed' into your system., exactly the same as clicking on a 'bugged' hyperlink does. So, really be extra careful on any suspicious emails you may receive. Julia, (sorry Ken I'm really not trying to take over your forum) We will be back up in 'Sunny' Oregon in a few weeks time, now that Pam has contracted this COPD, we cannot stay here in Vegas much longer as the pollution in our little desert Valley is getting so high that anyone with breathing problems are advised not to go out most days, & thats no way to live, Pam's Dr's advised moving to the coast as the Ocean air will be so much more benefical. So, Oregon here we come, we have a realtor hunting out Property or Land for us now & we will be heading up there to view some places over the next month/two months. Maybe, we can meet up in your town, or maybe Newport..... Anyway, Ken, here's your forum back, one last thing, Julia mentioned a member who has been here at Adlandpro about as long as I have, who is filling up our email box's with his programs daily, he really should know better, specialy as some of the stuff he sends is of the 'Adult' persuasion, the 'banned button' is getting very close to being pushed on that member. Your Security Friend in Las Vegas.

Hi Ken, I know what you mean & there are quite a few emails in my inbox everyday too with adverts, & some of these, like Lisa said are not even curteous enough to invite you to their friends list. Well, what I do is just respond with a link to my business usually, hoping to let them know that I don't appreciate their tactics. Maybe I shouldn't respond at all. Anyway, hope your post helps some people see the proper etiquette for sharing their business. Thanks & have a nice day on Friday Kenneth. Cheryl
