Excellent advice, but not as easy as it sounds. We are shaped and programmed by the world we grew up in and the circumstances surrounding our lives. Whether we like it or not, most of our belief system has been put in place by the time we are 3 years old.
It takes a great deal of effort, commitment and personal pain (I would dare say) to de-program ourselves so that we can make significnt changes.
There is a lot of literature on the subject, but I would recommend the book "What to Say When you Talk to yourself" by Dr. Shad Helmstetter. It's available on Amazon or maybe your local bookstore.
