Re: How to Tell if You're Destined to Fail

How very true, as usual. I think there is a lot more fact in the statement: ========== Many organizations thrive because members like feeling part of a group. They belong. ========== The amazing thing about that statement though, in my opinion, is that the majority of people don't realize this when they join a MLM.

Hey Winston... =========================================== I have to agree, the numbers don't lie. Especially when it comes to simple math! Sadly though, a lot of people don't think in numbers, they think with emotions. =========================================== Funny thing is, we don't have to negate our emotions. Kind of like this... Wrong way.... "Oh my God, this sounds exciting - let me jump right in!" Right way... "Oh my God, this sounds exciting - let me grab my calculator!" lol. There's an old saying that we make decisions based on emotion and then justify them with logic. A lot of people have the emotion part down pat, but forget the logic part... and it's just not there. : ) Linda

Linda, =============================== lol. There's an old saying that we make decisions based on emotion and then justify them with logic. A lot of people have the emotion part down pat, but forget the logic part... and it's just not there. ================================ People's insatible desire to make something so is often the reason for the lack of logic I think. Call it a stubborness, but certain types of people, once they get something into their head, do all they can to prove that point, even when they know they are wrong. They would be so much farther ahead to simply be honest with themselves.

Hi Winston; =========================================== Call it a stubborness, but certain types of people, once they get something into their head, do all they can to prove that point, even when they know they are wrong. =========================================== I call it ego. Then I say that ego only comes before profit in the dictionary. lol Odds being what they are, we have 50/50 odds of being right or wrong every time we open our mouth or have an opinion. We can often sway the odds with knowledge, but seldom with ego. Funny how some folks can go through life oblivious to this simple fact. : ) Linda

Hi Winston, I see you are sporting a new look! Things Downunda are about the same as things Upover, I guess. About the numbers folks... I have a saying: "three-fifths of five-eighths of zero is still zero." For the mathematically minded... 3/5 x 5/8 x 0 = 0. In the scenario that Linda opened this thread with, the individual "commisions" are so paltry that in order to make any money in such a project thousands of units need to be sold. Anybody participating is such a scheme simply doesn't understand the math. Simple as that. When Linda and Peter are criticised for pointing out the foibles of such a structure then those handing out the criticism are either: - mathematically incompetent, - emotionally duped or - blindly following a sure loser of an idea. With regards to the title of this forum thread - "How to Tell if You're Destined to Fail" - look in the mirror. What do you see? Remember, if you don't like what you see you can always change it. Best Wishes Gary Simpson
