I am curious how the vaccines that have all but eliminated like polio, measles, diphtheria and a few others. If developed and has the same rate of success would you take it to prevent autism? Or any other dreaded thing that vaccines are supposedly to cause? Even those that were happening long before vaccines came along. Remember centuries ago we had mental institutions, where many a autistic were housed along with many others deemed "unfit" for society. This was the practice long before we became so smart as to provide the treatments locally and house the folks at home. Seems the family unit with supervision was the best place. Anyways my point in this information helps its writers and advocates more credence to sell more nutritional supplements only. Their words not mine are highlighted.
As for myself, I learned how to heal my body at an early age by paying attention to a couple old women in my life at a young age. They were older than old when I was young and they lived till I was about thirty five or so. Making them I guess in their mid to late nineties. When I was young and dad was home we ate home cooked meals. When he was away we had a lot of TV Dinners as those were the rage then and as Mom worked that was how it was. The point is when dad was away sometimes we lived in Sikes, Olla and Monroe parts of Louisiana. This is where I came under the care and feeding by my grandma, My aunt Eller as I called her. And my great grandMa. Here we would eat whatever grew and lived on and around their huge 3 thousand acre forest as they would call it. All I remember is after you left the blacktop it was a long winding dirt road to Great's place and even further to great Aunt Eller's. All the tree and land belonged to them. I have a copy of their will splitting up the property between all the children. I have a few acres there myself.
What I noticed as a young man afflicted with a yearly bouts of sinus infections, strep throat and scarlett fever was when I was in the south as i called Louisiana then. I would beef up and had fewer of my sickly days. When we lived in or near the bases I was always sickly, scrawny and weak feeling. I have pictures where you could count all my ribs, and anemic to boot. I hated those iron syrups I had to take.
What I have learned is to listen to my body. Take in lots of fluids, take nutrients and vitamins such as C and Zinc during cold and flu season. Eat as close to living off the land as possible this is the part I learned from my grands and greats. Eating fresh foods and meats is always better for you. Today's methods of vacuum freezing and canning at home makes it much easier to prepare meals ahead. So if your cooking time is limited through the week week. Have your own home prepared meals ready made during those time you do cook. Just cook enough so the leftovers can be had later as part of your weekly meal plan. Don't go for the boxes and cans when you can have home cooked meals every day if you plan it right.
This does take time but if like me you enjoy to cook but can't do the above suggested when you can cook.
Back to the subject: I still see my doctor and we work together to reduce the number of meds I must take through diet and lifestyle and nutrition. It's never bad to build up the immune system. With all that said there are those of us that don't take the flu shots I am one but not because I am afraid but because I don't need it. But there are some folks such as elderly, young and those living in poverty that do and I usually purchase a few to be given away at the local pharmacy. I was quite happy to find that you can do that.
I believe vaccines have proven to do much good and that cannot be denied or blamed on something that existed before they came about. Wouldn't you think that was a fair statement?
With respect and hope that I am not intruding on conversation.
Jim
