Glad to help, Ken.

URL Tracking...

Hit Advertisers - The Gold Member Package includes URL tracking

Note: If I remember correctly, the “came from” data is available for 30 days at a time. I don’t remember if it is available in archived format.

Hit My Account, then hit Affiliate Mid-page you will see the “last referral link”, the source of your most recent hit. I quickly visit this page to see my stats and to catch a glimpse of the sites that are contributing to my credits. Note that unless you visit often, you won’t notice the different referral sites.

Now – this is a good time to wish that ALP history exists where I could get a summary of all the sites who have contributed to all my credits and cash by appearing on this page - hint hint!

Hit Tools, then hit URL Tracker – you can use the tracker by month.

Let me know what you think...

I cant really answer about the tracking, but if I make a suggestion, write a note to Bogdan with your thoughts and why. If everything is archived, then it should be able to be done..maybe?

Regardless..there are two things I wish to say.. <cough cough... ready voice>

1. I know that many people hear about tracking, but really don't know how to really utilize it or even what to do with those stats when seen. I know for example that when blogging and you see who is visiting, then you can go to their sites and leave a comment ( that type of thing) is it the same way for banner ads ( as another example)
This is something that I feel would be important to teach people and the more people who are willing to show and teach others..the better.
2. Yes I agree that when banner ads are used as they are meant to be, they can work well.
There reason I titled this post "thinking outside the box" was to let it be known that when you are promoting, you can do it in many ways and share in many ways ( thinking social)

While what I created is called a banner, it is more like an infographic that tells a bit of a story. How can it be used? Well Pinterest for one..using good keywords and hashtags, it will be seen and maybe even shared. When writing an article it can be used as a visual representation of the benefits.. I am sure there are other ways this kind of thing can be used.

There are those times when we all can get stuck in a rut and we need to get out of that mode of thinking and be willing to try news things.

Adlandpro has changed a lot over the last year or so..the positives that are happening on the community end is a good sign.. now how about the advertising side.. how many of you know what is really going on there? and what are the benefits?

time for a cold something lol..its hot here

Naming that banner in keyword fashion is also a good idea.

Regarding tracking for your personal website, I use StatCounter (free), http://statcounter.com/

Tremendous amount of data. I download to spreadsheet and start my analysis there. I use Data Access for easy reports and inquiries.

If you know of any other great free tracking systems, please post them.
