These images bring so much. They are historical glimpses with soul and spirit and a desire to share.

They are truly lyrical.

My first post here, mostly for the exquisite subject. Savrasov is a great painter. I have a question, maybe you can help me. For some of Savrasov's painings I could find the original dimensions of the work, in same cases even of the frame. Do you know by chance the dimensions of the Novodevichy Convent painting?
The dimensions of the painting are relevant in the study of his style.
Thanks, larry

Hi Larry,

I am very sorry, I have not been able to find any reference to the size of the painting
Novodevichy Convent by Alexei Savrosov. In general, there is very little info about any of Savrosov's paintings. However, it is very possible that it is a small painting since I have come across with such data in relation to other works by him and they for the most part seem to be no more than 100 or 110 cm in their longer dimension.

Best Wishes,

Miguel

No one could say it better, Roger.

Before closing this thread, I would like to post a few more of Savrasov's later works that so far have gone missing in it. Please excuse me if I show them a bit disorderly.
NOTE: Don't forget to click on the images to enlarge them.
