French Days
7/25/2013 3:33:27 PM
During the French Days, sections of the town are color coded. Our section is green and purple. (Ugh what are we the hulk?) Other colors are red, pink, orange, yellow and blue. People decorate their house like they decorate for christmas. Actors come and perform plays, singers come, local bands perform, their are booths with various foods, and crafts to buy, balloon castles, face painting, kids go to clown school (our daughter went the last 3 years in a row) and they dress up as a clown, make balloon animals, walk on stilts and such. BBQ´s everywhere, campers, and people pitching tents. There is a huge bonfire where everyone gathers and people from France give a speech and continue to admire the relationship between Iceland and France. I will find some pictures from recent years, and will post new ones from this year.fd001.jpg

10_1_136.gifHi Christopher,
This looks like it is going to be an interesting topic. Any time that different cultures get together to share ideas and fun, has to be worthwhile.
GOD BLESS YOU
