It would be hard to find a more idyllic landscape than this one, painted circa 1823 - that is, Turner must have been almost fifty by then.

Miguel, his works are beautiful, and your labor, as always, is greatly appreciated.
Even if I do not show up to thank you loud, I am enjoying your great pages behind the curtain. Impressions may have barrier to be heard, but gratitude - it simply can't be prevented by silence and I am sure it finds you.

Have a beautiful Sunday.

What a lovely post, Branka. I expect my gratitude for it cannot but find you too in return.

A MAGNIFICENT COMPOSITION

Turner probably was only 25 - 28 years old when he painted this extraordinary view of the Salisbury Cathedral interior. Apart from the precision of the drawing and the superb composition, there is to especially note the exquisite use of light and the resulting glistening yellow-brown hues inundating the enclosure.

Such a wonderful painting.

Having visited the cathedral I can vouch for the accurate feel of this image.

Quite superb. Having tried to do an accurate painting of a monastry and coping with the details I know just how good the perspective is.
