You are in for an interesting ride. I have uncovered some really good art from South America. So many of the earlier (pre 1900) artists were born in Spain, Portugal, France or UK and settled in South America, however, since the turn of that century more and more artists found a cause or a desire to paint relating to their country of origin.

There is great stuff and, like everywhere else, art that is difficult to understand or accept.

We will try to cover the lot.

Anyone can bring some examples they find.

I shall be guilty of leaving out many accents on letters, please forgive, as I am not that good at Spanish or Portuguese and my keyboard is limited.

Although their are similar styles in her work the subjects are very varied and obviously have themes. She was very heavily involved in comment about the Spanish Civil War.
