Hello all, We, as Catholics, have heard these stories and many more stories of the brutalization of children by nuns and priests over the years, however we have chosen to remain quiet about it. Fear of being condemned to Hell or being ex-communicated from the church, or a number of other fears held us back. Whatever reason that we have had over the years to allow these heinious acts to continue, the fact remains that if we had spoken up in the fifties, or sixties, or any time frame along the way, we could have prevented a lot of suffering. On the subject of the Magdalene Laundries some people have asked why these buildings and convents were never torn down. The Catholic church does not want them to be torn down because they have not finished hiding their secrets. In convents that had been torn down in several countries, disturbing discoveries of baby skeletons have been found. Most of these babies, brought into the world by sisters of the convent, were placed in a secret room and left to starve to death. The Catholic religion is the most deadly religion of them all, and has always been beyond reproach. On one particular evening we closed the store early because one of the residents had invited us to their house. A relative who was also a nun, had just returned from Africa and had brought back a movie from one of the tribes that they had visited. At first it was interesting, however I saw that they were tying a young girl to two trees. I was about sixteen and asked what they were doing. The nun smiled and told me that as we were guests of their tribe they were sacrificing a virgin in our honor. I wanted to leave but my parents told me that it would be a rude thing to do. As the camera followed the screaming girl up, and got a close-up of her body splitting in two, the camera panned towards the four nuns and the priest who were applauding and dancing. The nun said that the meat was delicious, a lot like Lamb. I did not say much for a couple of days and finally asked my parents how they could watch something like that without being sick to their stomaches. My father shrugged it off saying that they were jungle people and not like us. I very seldom raised my voice but I said "No!!! That girl was a human being and did not deserve to die." The bottom line was if the Catholic Church said it was alright, you couldn't argue the point. That image has never left my mind and it never will. GOD BLESS YOU ~Mike~ http://www.countryvalues65.com
