Hi Linda,
Your forums are always interesting, mentally stimulating, and quite refreshing. Thank you for sharing! :)
First of all, I must agree that image IS important, and using a banner to advertise a "money maker," with the banner company's address or logo included on the banner is not a smart business decision.
Secondly, if the spelling is poor and the grammar is incorrect on a site, it makes me very wary and unlikely to do business there. In fact, in this day of phishing schemes from foreign countries, such a site makes me VERY wary, indeed.
Third, if the site is loaded with different programs, banners and little things that swim, pop out and float all over the screen, most likely none of the programs are making any money.
Another subconscious parallel assumption that fits here is the assumption that someone who is successful dresses successfully; therefore if the expert who is trying to convince me to buy a book on making money has posted a picture of someone dressed in shoddy attire and poorly groomed, I'm also going to question the success of the person and then the quality of the book.
And last, but not least, if I can't find out who the owner(s) of the site is(are), I'm likely to be very cautious about spending a thin dime on the site.
God bless,
Dave
