Hey monkeyface, read this....

Hi: Okay, I'm on a roll. I was just posting my last post when this banner caught my eye. Maybe you saw it. The banner has a monkey face on it. It says "Great system for beginners." and Cash 15 ways" In the lower left corner, it also says; "free ad by addesigner.com" When I saw the banner, a thought popped into my head. As a rule, people who are making good money from their programs usually don't use paid ads with the banner designer's url on them. Therefore, the person running the ads probably isn't making decent money. Know what that is? It's a subconscious parallel assumption. So there you go, you learned something new. : ) Linda P.S. The person running the banner *could* be making decent money, of course, but that would be the exception, not the rule. Most people making decent money don't advertise their banner design site on their banners. For every rule, there is always an exception, but the exception does not discount the rule. P.P.S. Can you think of any other common subconscious parallel assumptions?

P.P.S. Can you think of any other common subconscious parallel assumptions? Okay I have one: I make a candle that has a certain scent, It is called "Monkey Farts". Now as a result of the "subconscious parallel assumption", when you tell most people the name of the candle, you can see their face screw up into a tight ball. Mainly because they make an assumption based upon the word "fart". The fact is the candle has the smell of Banana's, Kiwi and other exotic FRUITS that a monkey might eat, it really is quite nice smelling. But there in lies the "Subconsious Parallel Assumption".

Very scatalogical Peter. The term "monkeyface" caught my attention. My Nanna, when she was alive, would use the term a lot. I always thought it was riotously funny, so I laughed. So she kept saying it... and I kept laughing. Yes Linda, many of those dopey ads are really saying: "Come and give me money so I can show you how I'm not making money." Gary Simpson

Gary Gary Gary, I am not one to use words of such depth and meaning a lot, but in this case I can only assume that you mean "scatological" and not scatalogical (no such word, I think) Scatological is however the study of fecal excrement and not of farts. I don't really wish to get stuck into the depth of this subject matter as the candles smell nice, the other however is just Shi**y smelling.

Hi: ========================================= many of those dopey ads are really saying: "Come and give me money so I can show you how I'm not making money." ========================================= Kinda sorta. More like "I'm not making money, but if I pretend I am, maybe you'll believe me." Subconscious parallel assumptions are funny. Here's an example; Take a website with an ebook for sale. The website looks amateur (at best) and has a lot of typos. - Do we assume that the ebook is of any better quality? - Or will we make a subconscious parallel assumption about the ebook based on the website? So, let's say we "clean up" the website. People see the website and - again - make a subconscious parallel assumption about the quality of the ebook. The book better meet the expectation it set or it's a whole new can of worms. I know - I'm preaching to the choir here. : ) Linda
