If the left ear - normal orientation, if the right - blue (gay). Or vice versa.
None of my men's friends does not wear earrings, for me it's savagery.

I went with a gentleman years ago that had his left ear pierced. While in the army he was given a earring which he did not wear.I think it was some kind of combat he went through I think it was a cross, not sure I only saw it once, and it was something he didn't want to talk about. He said it was to be an honor for the wearing of the earring. It must have been painful memories, because he didn't want to keep on with the earring issue. So subject was dropped and never spoken of again.

So I think Gen Ham's earring has a good meaning.
