Hi LaNell,

That's very nice of you but you and I both know our attempts won't compensate for notifications not being sent out to all the members of the POTW forum.

BTW, Mary Evelyn prefers to be called Evelyn. :)

Shalom,

Peter

Hi Peter, I like both of her names but it does sound pretty together, like a southern belle as Mary Evelyn. She prefers Evelyn ok. Maybe the POTW forum has too many members now for notifications, 1729 members. Cheers, LaNell

Hi Evelyn

Everything! Just kidding but I don't think he was a very nice man.

Frank Sinatra never did much for me but I kept it to myself until I heard how nasty he could be. Also his style of singing didn't grab me. I don't know why. Maybe it is because I like Country, old time Rock 'n Roll and some Classical music.

Here's a little story...

Sinatra had just finished a concert and somehow one of his fans had managed to get close enough to let Frank know what a hero he was and how he really enjoyed the concert. Then Frank Sinatra's goons came out of the woodwork and beat up the fan. Apparently Frank had these goons around him all the time to keep anyone from coming near him. I suppose you cannot blame Frank to have protection from the fans but this particular fan was alone, acted respectful and certainly did not deserve a beating.

It left a bad taste in my mouth.

I will still love you even if you like Frank Sinatra. :)) A lot of people adored him.

Hi Evelyn

Great minds think alike!

Hi Amanda

They wasted Elvis' life in those dumb Elvis movies. I liked him in concert.

Don't worry. You are still in my good graces even if you said you liked Frank Sinatra. I would even love you if you said you liked Obama. I would have to think about it for a minute or two but yes, I would still love you ...well, maybe. Just kidding. I would still love you.

Hello Myrna,

I enjoyed listening to Elvis, yet I did not like to watch him at all even in his movies. - but there were several bands and soloists I felt the same way.

Often it was because I heard them many times before I ever saw them, as their movies were slower getting down to NZ, then their voices just did not live up to the image I had of their faces..

I hope it does not mean that I will be left out of your good graces now! *grin*

Hello Helen,

I remember my late mother telling me that Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby were 'crooners' - enough to put one to sleep! so that is maybe why you did not like him....Then again - I heard tell and several written articles Frankie Boy was a member of a Mafia so that kind of sounds more like the thuggery beat up his goons gave one of his fans
