Helen, you cracked me up and I have no idea, so to peel or not to peel is the question. If you find out you can report back to us. :)

Hello Evelyn and Myrna
Cucumbers have other uses, too, according to a booklet I once read in a joke shop. It said, among other things, that a cucumber is better than a man ....because a cucumber stays hard for a whole week, it said. Ok, go ahead and tell me I ought to be ashamed of myself. When I initially read that, I couldn't stop laughing.
I was having a coffee at a coffee shop a number of years ago. (As I tell this story, keep in mind that the manager, a man, did not like me.) I was telling the waitresses about this book I had read about cucumbers and what it said. They were grinning about it when the manager came out of the kitchen with a plate in his hand and a serious look on his face. On the plate was a big uncut cucumber. The waitresses all burst out laughing and ran for cover leaving me to have to deal with the manager.
Helen PS ...I wonder if, in this case, a person should peel the cucumber or not. What do you think? :)) :))

When I was checking FB just now I saw this graphic Myrna, that you had posted and I just had to snitch it for this thread. One of my sisters was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma when she found a knot on her neck and this elderly lady that lives there in my old home town has a health food store and she recommended my sister start drinking raw vegetable and fruit smoothies everyday and after about three weeks the knot has disappeared and when they did a whole body scan no cancer was found so I found that simply amazing. Since our mother died from cancer we are all becoming much more aware of what we eat and drink and trying to educate ourselves as much as possible. Cucumbers was just one of the things the lady suggested to my sister.
