RE: Mary Evelyn's Koffee Klatch

Hi Myrna, no I have not heard that about margarine and bugs but it makes sense. I have heard that margarine is microscopic beads but do not know if this is really true. I guess I need to do some research and find out.

Myrna know what really irritates me?? It is when I buy a salad, either at a good restaurant or at one of the fast food places, makes no difference, they all are full of what I call garbage. In that I mean all the big stems instead of just leaves. Evidently they all buy the pre chopped from vendors instead of doing their own in house. Even the bagged salads that you buy at the grocery store are full of those big stems or ribs or whatever you want to call them, unless you just buy a bag of field greens or herbs. I love a good salad but hate having to pick through it and throw all the garbage out. I wonder if this bothers anyone besides me. Just today while I was out and about I went through the drive thru of one of our fast food chains here and bought a grilled chicken salad but ended up throwing out about half of it. It may be OK to eat but to me it is definitely not appealing nor appetizing so I just pick them out and throw them away. Just wondering if anyone else has a problem with this.

Hi Evelyn,

Your article on Butter verses Margarine is good. Have you ever heard if you put a dish of margarine out in the open bugs will not bother it. Because it is the next thing to plastic. No wonder people have so many problems with their health.

One of the best oils you can use is, coconut oil. Look it up, find out all the wonders it holds. I use it for most everything.

When I was checking FB just now I saw this graphic Myrna, that you had posted and I just had to snitch it for this thread. One of my sisters was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma when she found a knot on her neck and this elderly lady that lives there in my old home town has a health food store and she recommended my sister start drinking raw vegetable and fruit smoothies everyday and after about three weeks the knot has disappeared and when they did a whole body scan no cancer was found so I found that simply amazing. Since our mother died from cancer we are all becoming much more aware of what we eat and drink and trying to educate ourselves as much as possible. Cucumbers was just one of the things the lady suggested to my sister.

Hi Evelyn,

Yes to about everything you said about salads. I started using romaine lettuce a few years ago and I can not stand head lettuce anymore. Most of the salad have head lettuce. So I make Cesar Salad. I make a lot of my stuff, because of so much soy in everything. I have a under active thyroid, so I was told not to use soy. Soy is in many many items.

I almost forgot what I started writing about. That being cucumbers. I read some years ago that cucumbers had very little food value. Now to see this

I know how much we have been lied too. I will do what I think is best, not what someone tells me is good for me or not. So I am planting cucumbers, onions and tomatoes. Sounds so good.
