Kathleen it is definitely a bad situation I'm going to share a reply to a pm I sent Myrna last night. I don't think she will mind in this incidence.

"Yes I am in the path of this storm. I just can't wait until it is over. Yes I would appreciate all the prayers I can get. To give you an idea where I am. I live about 75 miles north west, from Baltimore, MD, "

Hi Mary Evelyn,

I called my Dad last night, he's about 10 miles northwest of the city of Philadelphia but the town where he lives is on a river that has had flooding problems before, he's nearly a mile uphill from the river. He has plenty of bottled water, and there are other relatives in the area to check on him, but wind damage could be bad with downed trees, power lines, or broken windows.

I feel bad about the New Jersey coast and the people there, New Jersey is a beautiful place and it's the most densely populated state. It's only about a 1 hour drive from Philly to the NJ coast, so that's how close it is, and there's also the storm surge that will come up Delaware Bay from the south. I heard there were 20 foot waves nearing the coast of Delaware last night.

The worst is supposed to be from noon today until 6 a.m. tomorrow morning.

I think York (where Myrna lives) is also in the dark green area.

I hope Myrna has neighbors to visit her, the news told people to visit their elderly neighbors who might be alone and make sure they have food, water, and are safe.

My Dad has lived in his neighborhood for over 50 years and that area is packed with people, so even if my brother, sister and cousins somehow can't get to his house, there are lots of neighbors very close, (too close, I remember growing up there seemed to be no privacy, the east coast is wall-to-wall people).

Lake Michigan and other great lakes are getting the outer bands of wind way over there, there are high waves already on the lakes and we're expecting winds of at least 30 mph tonight and tomorrow and it's cold here at night, expected to be around the freezing mark tonight so the Great Lakes area is going to be in a very cold wind with windchills plummeting just from the very outer bands of the hurricane.

Wildwood is near the southernmost area of New Jersey and will be hit very hard and will be one of the first shore tourist areas to hit by the hurricane, it's not just an amusement park, there is also the town of Wildwood where people live all year round. It's all going to get hit hard and is a very popular tourist destination and the Weather Channel said this morning that the NJ coast will be "obliterated".

The hurricane is still 200 miles offshore and the entire beach is now covered with water, there's supposed to be 150 feet of beach and now there's zero beach and the waves are eroding all the sand right from under the feet of the weathermen out there as they do the reporting.

There are lots of places I went as a teenager, I can't believe all of it will be obliterated, Ocean City, Atlantic City, and Brigantine was famous for it's amusement park and haunted castle. Those aren't just tourist locations, they are all towns/cities where lots of people have lives and families.

Here are lots of photos of how Wildwood usually looks in summer:

Hi Evelyn,

Thanks for all the caring and sharing. The only thing that bothers me about this storm is losing power. Then I will feel alone. I have planned to read a lot, hey what else is there to do. I thought of putting a puzzle together, but if it is cold, my hands would freeze. Have a few crossword puzzles to do too. Oh well I will make it. I just hate being cold, getting out my wool blankets, they are cozy warm. I will have to use my imagination and see what I can come up with.

Kathleen, I love your reporting on the different areas. My heart goes out to these people who are so determined to stay where they live, even it is life treating What is a house or place if you are dead?

Thanks ladies for your concern, I will be find.
