RE: Mary Evelyn's Koffee Klatch

Good morning everyone. Well it appears I need to do a retraction on something I told you about a couple days ago. As some of you may remember I told you about a young man who had supposedly been injured in Afghanistan while serving in the military and as a consequence of his supposed injuries, now talked with a stutter but could sing beautifully. Not only was I touched by his story but so were the judges and audience members. I'm guessing, but have no way of knowing, that NBC will more than likely kick him off the show after all this has come to light but if they don't you can bet the voters will. Anyway, here is just one of the news stories I read about this. :(

Hello everyone, I've had a very stressful day today. My oldest brother had heart surgery beginning at 9:00 this morning and lasting until 3:00 this afternoon and I couldn't concentrate very well during this time. He's now out and everything seems to be fine. This was originally planned for next Thursday the 14th but the hospital called yesterday afternoon and told him to be there this morning. I had planned on going to Tennessee next week to be there during his surgery but sometimes plans get changed and we have no control over it but the good thing is it's now over with and he's on the road to recovery. :)

Hi Mary Evelyn an All,
I know things don't always work out as we plan but G-d has things under control, so it must have been for the best. Wishing your brother a speedy recovery. Relax and listen to this wonderful video
!
Shalom,
Geketa

"Jerusalem of Gold" (Hebrew: ירושלים של זהב‎, Yerushalayim Shel Zahav) is a popular Israeli song written by Naomi Shemer in 1967. The original song described the Jewish people's 2000-year longing to return to Jerusalem; Shemer added a final verse after the Six-Day War to celebrate Jerusalem's unification under Israeli control.
At that time, the Old City was under Jordanian rule; Jews had been barred from entering, and many holy sites had been desecrated. Only three weeks after the song was published, the Six-Day War broke out. The song was the battle cry and morale booster of the Israeli troops. Shemer even sang it for them before the war and festival, making them among the first in the world to hear it. On 7 June, the Israel Defense Forces captured the eastern part of Jerusalem and the Old City from the Jordanians. When Shemer heard the paratroopers singing "Jerusalem of Gold" at the Western Wall, she wrote a final verse, reversing the phrases of lamentation found in the second verse. The line about shofars sounding from the Temple Mount is a reference to an event that actually took place on 7 June.
This beautiful version is from the late OFRA HAZA.
