Inspirational Quote of the Day

The way to happiness: keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry. Live simply, expect little, give much. Fill your life with love. Scatter sunshine. Forget self, think of others. Do as you would be done by. Try this for a week and you will be surprised.

Hello everyone, you know you can find the most interesting things by going through the post history and when I saw this video that Jim posted in his thread I just had to share it. It is a very touching and heartwarming story and just goes to show you what determination can do. A few words of warning - be sure you have a hankie handy. :)

Hi Eveyln,

Never give up is the best thoughts anyone can have. This video is so good, what a great story to share with the world.

I know when I was in the home after my car accident. The therapist was amazed at me, to tell you the truth I was a little amazed at times to,but I saw people who had the attitude they could not do it. I believe they did more for me then anything, because of their attitude I knew you had to listen to what the therapist was telling you. Do you want to walk? So do as I say, not as you want. I wanted to go home, and to go home I had to work hard at the exercises every time I had the opportunity. More then once I did not fell well, but I did not want to miss out on going home asap. The therapist would say, you don't need to do them today, but I did them anyhow. I would always fell better to, by going and working out the upper part of the body.

The gentleman wanted to walk, what a great job he did, his story is wonderful. Determination is the key. If you have determination you can do about anything..

Hi friends, here's some sad news. :(

George Lindsey, known as Goober Pyle, dies

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- George Lindsey, who spent nearly 30 years as the grinning Goober on "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Hee Haw," has died. He was 83.

A press release from Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home in Nashville said Lindsay died early Sunday morning after a brief illness. Funeral arrangements were still being made.

Lindsey was the beanie-wearing Goober on "The Andy Griffith Show" from 1964 to 1968 and its successor, "Mayberry RFD," from 1968 to 1971. He played the same jovial character -- a service station attendant -- on "Hee Haw" from 1971 until it went out of production in 1993.

Lindsey told The Associated Press in 1985 that "America has grown up with me. Goober is every man; everyone finds something to like about ol' Goober."
