Helen, I believe you and you don't need to provide proof. Your word is good enough for me. :)

Hello Dolly fans

It may interest you to know that I met Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner in person. Ok, ok. I know what you are thinking. Helen's going to pull our leg ....or Helen's lost it. But no, it's true!

I stood right in front of Dolly and Wagoner and could have touched her if I had thought to reach out and shake her hand.

When my daughter was still a little girl, she and I would like to go to K-Mart once a week or so to just look at things. We couldn't afford to buy much.

While at K-Mart one evening, they had Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner there singing and selling their records. I didn't really know much about Dolly so I was not that impressed but I remember standing there and listening to her for a few minutes and smiling. I remember her looking right into my eyes.

That's my claim to fame. This happened in Surrey, British Columbia (close to Vancouver) in the early 70's.

Now if you want to see if I am telling the truth, you will have to find one of her old itineraries in the 70's and see if she was in Surrey, BC at the K-Mart. Her itinerary might have said Vancouver BC as not many people know about Surrey BC. I don't have time to look for it and I wouldn't even know where to start. I don't even know if there is a way to find it. I guess you will just have to believe me :)) Yes, it did happen.

Helen

That's very true, and now I feel so much better about being a frequent mistake-maker, with encouragement from a famous person! The other old-saying about mistakes being a learning experience, also true...mistake-makers do seem to be much more brilliant than people who never step out of line. I'm a firm believer in finding something we're good at, and doing it all the time, and that "something we're all good at" is making mistakes. Then again, I've been accused of mistakes sometimes and said, "that wasn't a mistake, it was deliberate!" LOL. That just makes people annoyed. Maybe it's better to chalk it all up to "mistake-making!"

Kathleen it also proves you're not an airhead either, without the capability of a serious thought. You know some people are such airheads, it is impossible for them to ever have a serious thought. Sad isn't it? :(

One of my longtime online friends is a civilian employ on a military base in California and she sends me interesting things from time to time and this is one she sent me today. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope you do too.
