Hi Luis Miguel,

I didn't know there were all those other versions of "I Will Always Love You"...thanks for all the great videos!

Here's my favorite by Whitney Houston, I think there are also other versions of "The Greatest Love of All"

Hi Miguel,
Thanks for sharing the article. Much of these facts I was aware of although the history behind Kevin Costner picking out Dolly's song I was not aware of.
Dolly's I'll always love you, many people have sung this over the years, besides the ones you shared and I enjoyed listening too and Dolly called it her 'little ditty' has been her main bread and butter song all these years to the sheer volume of people singing it.
I have always admired Dolly too as she has been such a role model and of professionalism, she has such a wonderful and witty sense of humour. I am glad that this song has been so successful for her.

Hi again Evelyn and friends,

A Yahoo article on surprising facts about Whitney Houston singing 'I Will Always Love You' for
The Bodyguard just caught my eye. I am afraid it is a bit long, but here it is.

Amanda, Kathleen and Miguel, here is a video of a very young Dolly singing "Dumb Blond" on Cas Walker's show back in 1967 and yes Amanda, Dolly did not let success go to her head and she's the same today as she was then. She has given back much to her community and helped an untold number of people.

In this second video you'll see several shots of Cades Cove which is part of the Smoky Mountains National Park. There is an eleven mile loop around it and when my kids were younger we rented bikes and rode around it. There are log cabins and churches here because at one time it was a thriving community. If you ever get the chance to visit you'll find it a beautiful, peaceful and serene place that will take you back in time.

Hello Dolly fans

It may interest you to know that I met Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner in person. Ok, ok. I know what you are thinking. Helen's going to pull our leg ....or Helen's lost it. But no, it's true!

I stood right in front of Dolly and Wagoner and could have touched her if I had thought to reach out and shake her hand.

When my daughter was still a little girl, she and I would like to go to K-Mart once a week or so to just look at things. We couldn't afford to buy much.

While at K-Mart one evening, they had Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner there singing and selling their records. I didn't really know much about Dolly so I was not that impressed but I remember standing there and listening to her for a few minutes and smiling. I remember her looking right into my eyes.

That's my claim to fame. This happened in Surrey, British Columbia (close to Vancouver) in the early 70's.

Now if you want to see if I am telling the truth, you will have to find one of her old itineraries in the 70's and see if she was in Surrey, BC at the K-Mart. Her itinerary might have said Vancouver BC as not many people know about Surrey BC. I don't have time to look for it and I wouldn't even know where to start. I don't even know if there is a way to find it. I guess you will just have to believe me :)) Yes, it did happen.
