Evelyn,

I have been on a mission reading and learning as much as I can how to avoid many of the harmful chemicals in our daily uses - what we eat and drink, wear, breath..It is has been staggering what I have been learning from the ingredients what they are and how harmful and it makes me so angry that all these common products that the average person buys on a regular basis has been deliberately sabotaged to harm us and dumb us down into complacency of acceptance of all that the Govt does and bring in the New World Order under Satan. - Not likely will I go along and I will be fighting every step of the way.
James and I plan to put in our own well in and a solar electricity back up, we would like to live off the grid as much as possible because prices are going to sky rocket.
I will keep you posted when I make the next homemade product, I pretty much have all the ingredients, except for essential oils / fragrance oils to make smell nice. I am not sure where I can buy these here and will have do a search. I did find a nice shop a couple of months ago when I was not looking and I cannot remember if it was here or one of the many other towns and cities nearby.
I have always used natural and organic skin care products. It has been a challenged to find when I run out from one brand I like to another because we have moved and in the new area I cannot find it. I have tried several online companies, which are often a little pricy.
My latest skin care is Cindy Crawford, Meaningful Beauty. I like her products, they last a long time as I only need a small dab. She also gave free gifts for trying or much reduced price for new products.
I have joined her Preferential Customer and buy so much cheaper.

Amanda now you're talking my kind of things. It's hard to find personal care products without the harmful chemicals. I have been using a bar of glycerin bath soap and now too with a well I don't have chlorine and fluoride in my water. I would love to fine a good chemical free shower gel. I have been buying my shampoo at Sally's Beauty Supply and according to the label there aren't supposed to be any harmful chemicals in it. Coconut oil has a lot of beneficial things in it. Good luck with making these and keep us informed on how everything goes.

Hello Everyone,

I have been gathering ingredients to make my own soap, laundry power or liquid laundry soap, dish washing liquid soap and deodorant, because I reckon I can make it more healthy for my body without all the extra chemicals that manufactured soaps do to my skin, breathing etc - and much cheaper.

So this evening I made my first deodorant and poured into an empty washed out stick canister that you roll the wheel on the bottom to raise up the stick to use.

Here is the ingredients:
1/4 cup baking soda
1/4 cup corn starch or arrowroot powder (I used corn starch)
2 teaspoons coconut oil
a drop or two of fragrance oil

I placed the two dry ingredients in a small saucepan which I had warmed on the burner then dropped in the two teaspoons of coconut oil. It melted the ingredients into a pour-able paste in no time - I did not have any fragrance oils, so it is plain.
I had previously rolled down the tray in the canister so I poured carefully and it all fit then popped it into the fridge for about 30 minutes and it was set and tidied up any drips and put the lid on the solid home made deodorant and placed on the counter in the bathroom.

The second method I saw, that you might be interested in too..
1/4 cup powdered arrowroot or cornstarch
1/4 cup baking soda
6 - 8 teaspoons coconut oil
fragrance oil for scent
1 jar with a lid - about the size of a moisturizer jar.

In a bowl place the two dry ingredients, add about 4 teaspoons of coconut oil and blend into the ingredients - add more coconut oil as needed to produce a thick paste.
Add the fragrance oil and blend in then spoon out into a jar and screw on the lid.

Mark I'll need instructions on how to put this on the opening page of this thread. I am not techy inclined, unfortunately, and I definitely want to make sure you receive credit where credit is due. What little I do know, has been sorta of like on the job training. :)

First of all, right click on the image and select-Save Image As.

Save to your desk top. You can always move it latter

If you have not done so already on the left of page you will see Albums, click on it or right click and open in new tab. That way you can go back and forth between them. If you have not created a Album folder it will allow you to. ( Add Album) Name it and short description and private or not. Name it Koffee Klatch Images or anything you wish. From there it will give you an option on the right of folder when opened to upload image. Just click on it, find the image, name it and and upload. When you folder is opened click on the image that you have added to the Album. When it opens, right click on it and you will see options in a drop down. Click on-Copy Image Address. Now go back to your forum, Should be already open if you have two tabs likes i said with right clicking Albums and opening link in new tab. Before changing anything just open new reply to see if you are going to get this.

It will open the editor and you are going to click on the little box that say's-insert image.

When it opens the image editor Click on the image source, right click and select paste.

Click on the next line that it called Alternatve Text. Do nothing there and you should see your image in the preview window. If all is ok just hit OK and click on Create in the editor.

Lets see if you can do this before changing anything. After you do it a couple of times it is very easy and you will always be able to create a new Album, use existing, upload new images and add them to your post..

I will return latter to see if you have posted new Image.

You are more then welcome to save it and use on your opening page and it is all yours. I am so clad you like it and that just makes my day. You will notice that I did not imbedded my logo or any signature into it. All I ask, and that is up to you, that you share what I do and if someone ask who did it? Well, you know what to do. What else is pretty cool to do is every time you make a post, there can be a small header that can be used as well.

Example Post….

You can use this one or we can create one just for new postings. Similar, but maybe a different look and size. Now this is just my thought, but if this is your most favorite place to be why not do a banner in your signature that every time you post and make replies, it will be there and when clicked on will take them right here. Just a thought…

Some times I will add this signature for mine but if you click on my signature at the bottom, it will take you to the group where the images and forums are located.

Hi all,

Making enough to sell is a consideration down the line, but as I have only started looking into making these home products for our home life.....it was kind of a joke between James and I although James would be extremely supportive of me starting a craft / home made business.
I have kind of dreamed about Cafe like back in New Zealand that are just not seen around where James and I have moved. Where you can select from many different finger foods buffet style inside and behind see through glassed in shelving that you can open from both sides to either put in or customer select and take out - cakes, sandwiches, cookies, hogie filled rolls etc... for hot.. small pies, sausage rolls, mouse traps, quiche etc.. you would have a heated display case to open and select ... Or you can make requests e.g. grilled sandwiches with fillings of your choice...
You can either select and place into paper bag, pay and leave, or place onto a plate yourself and sit at a table with your friends and talk.
And of course you would have selections of hot and cold beverages, I probably would not offer the many soda's on the market that are 'gut rots'. I would have to start my Ginger Beer bug and make ginger beer which is efflorescent because of the lemon juice and leaving the beverage in the bottles for a time to mature and it fizz's on it's own without adding anything to make it. - and offer other local beverages that are not harmful which would also benefit the small business if we could work with each other..
Cafe's back in NZ are just different and more healthy than the run of the mill Subway, Albys and others similar that only sell sandwiches, hamburgers - I want something else to select from, or when I found something they do not have seating or it is in a noisy Food Center in the middle of a Mall which is not 'user friendly'
I could probably bribe, cajole Kerie my daughter to come over and help get me started as she has had lots experience and can make some wonder foods, coffees, cook, waitress and manage etc.
Now for the big rub why I balk at this dream.. Since I discovered that the USA has made itself into a Corporation and they see us 'human beings' as Legal Fictions (like carrying a mirror around with you - there is two of you) Everything is licensed so everything is taxed and it is also the property of the US Corporation - that means You, Me, our house, vehicles, property, children and the list goes on...Because we registered / licensed everything we own. This is the reason the US Corporation can place all these toxins, poisons etc etc into our air, food, water. The US Corporation sees us by its wording in Legal definition that the People are their chattels, assets, nothing more than animals so they can buy and sell us or even kill us..We have signed up onto this US Corporation under deception but it was from an Offer and was not under duress - we just didn't know, people had not idea that the Govt had set this up nearly 2 centuries ago. The countries effected are USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia the commonwealth countries as they are still under Great Britain.
I have many more links, but you will get their idea from these...
James and I have to get off this treadmill before we even think about owning and operating a business because the powers that be can come and slap all sorts of regulations on you that you have to jump through their hoops. When you are a Freeman on the Land and under the Lord Almighty God no one else has any claims upon us.

Amanda I think you could sell your items at flea markets or farmers markets and craft shows and just market them as being homemade. You could have labels made up listing the ingredients and I think you would probably be OK. I've seen people sell things like this at flea markets and even craft shows. They go over very well at craft shows especially if they're packaged attractively. My daughter used to make hair ribbons and bows and she did have a tax number and that is another thing, there are a lot of tax advantages with owning your own small business.

Hi Kathleen,

The deodorant I made, I reckon would be better for James as it is unscented and I would like to made another with fragrance oil to lightly scent for me.
Funny you say, I should make and sell - this is what James said to me too when I was telling him over the phone I had found an easy looking recipe.
He even thought up the brand name for me.
The trouble with selling products under this Govt at present, there are too many hoops one has to jump through - they are just over the top with their regulations and even anything natural is just about a jail-able offense

Hi Amanda,

You could sell containers of that, lots of people want natural products. I've seen a lot of natural bath soaps and shampoo online, but yours is the first deoderant recipe I've seen! At first I thought it was laundry soap, had to go back and read it.

Oh yes it was lump free (even my gravies and sauces are lump free which I make from scratch)
I not not know where I would get canisters for the deodorants.
Making cute and appealing to the eye would be easy enough - I could add colours to the mix to go with the different herbs or essential oils / fragrance oils. I have even just thought how I could put a stripe through the center e.g. mint green center and white on both sides..The green would e.g. be peppermint fragrance and the white maybe just plain..
Experiment, experiment to see what I can come up with! LOL
There are many different colours pictures to label, cellophane, ribbons, for the outside container to make pretty too.

LOL! Lots of people sell handmade bath & beauty products online, but it would have to be lump-free, well mixed and look cute.
