Hi all,
Making enough to sell is a consideration down the line, but as I have only started looking into making these home products for our home life.....it was kind of a joke between James and I although James would be extremely supportive of me starting a craft / home made business.
I have kind of dreamed about Cafe like back in New Zealand that are just not seen around where James and I have moved. Where you can select from many different finger foods buffet style inside and behind see through glassed in shelving that you can open from both sides to either put in or customer select and take out - cakes, sandwiches, cookies, hogie filled rolls etc... for hot.. small pies, sausage rolls, mouse traps, quiche etc.. you would have a heated display case to open and select ... Or you can make requests e.g. grilled sandwiches with fillings of your choice...
You can either select and place into paper bag, pay and leave, or place onto a plate yourself and sit at a table with your friends and talk.
And of course you would have selections of hot and cold beverages, I probably would not offer the many soda's on the market that are 'gut rots'. I would have to start my Ginger Beer bug and make ginger beer which is efflorescent because of the lemon juice and leaving the beverage in the bottles for a time to mature and it fizz's on it's own without adding anything to make it. - and offer other local beverages that are not harmful which would also benefit the small business if we could work with each other..
Cafe's back in NZ are just different and more healthy than the run of the mill Subway, Albys and others similar that only sell sandwiches, hamburgers - I want something else to select from, or when I found something they do not have seating or it is in a noisy Food Center in the middle of a Mall which is not 'user friendly'
I could probably bribe, cajole Kerie my daughter to come over and help get me started as she has had lots experience and can make some wonder foods, coffees, cook, waitress and manage etc.
Now for the big rub why I balk at this dream.. Since I discovered that the USA has made itself into a Corporation and they see us 'human beings' as Legal Fictions (like carrying a mirror around with you - there is two of you) Everything is licensed so everything is taxed and it is also the property of the US Corporation - that means You, Me, our house, vehicles, property, children and the list goes on...Because we registered / licensed everything we own. This is the reason the US Corporation can place all these toxins, poisons etc etc into our air, food, water. The US Corporation sees us by its wording in Legal definition that the People are their chattels, assets, nothing more than animals so they can buy and sell us or even kill us..We have signed up onto this US Corporation under deception but it was from an Offer and was not under duress - we just didn't know, people had not idea that the Govt had set this up nearly 2 centuries ago. The countries effected are USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia the commonwealth countries as they are still under Great Britain.
I have many more links, but you will get their idea from these...
James and I have to get off this treadmill before we even think about owning and operating a business because the powers that be can come and slap all sorts of regulations on you that you have to jump through their hoops. When you are a Freeman on the Land and under the Lord Almighty God no one else has any claims upon us.

Amanda I think you could sell your items at flea markets or farmers markets and craft shows and just market them as being homemade. You could have labels made up listing the ingredients and I think you would probably be OK. I've seen people sell things like this at flea markets and even craft shows. They go over very well at craft shows especially if they're packaged attractively. My daughter used to make hair ribbons and bows and she did have a tax number and that is another thing, there are a lot of tax advantages with owning your own small business.

Hi Kathleen,
The deodorant I made, I reckon would be better for James as it is unscented and I would like to made another with fragrance oil to lightly scent for me.
Funny you say, I should make and sell - this is what James said to me too when I was telling him over the phone I had found an easy looking recipe.
He even thought up the brand name for me.
The trouble with selling products under this Govt at present, there are too many hoops one has to jump through - they are just over the top with their regulations and even anything natural is just about a jail-able offense

Hi Amanda,
You could sell containers of that, lots of people want natural products. I've seen a lot of natural bath soaps and shampoo online, but yours is the first deoderant recipe I've seen! At first I thought it was laundry soap, had to go back and read it.
