RE: The Hypocrite In Chief Is At It Again

Hello Peter and fellow adlanders, I sincerely hope everyone is having a great day. I just wanted to add a quick note before Peter locks this thread again.
I have enjoyed the kinder, more gentle atmosphere we have been experiencing for the last several weeks but I have also noticed something else that is troubling. If we are going to have a warm and friendly community, that when new people come here they will want to stay and be a part of it, then we are going to have to accept the fact that our friends are going to be friendly with people we may not necessarily approve of or want to interact with. We have people here from all walks of life and there are going to be those we may not like or that may rub us the wrong way and vice versa. Those of us that want to make this a great community are going to have walk the talk. There are those here that I have disagreed with but that does not mean I can not be cordial to them and I will if they let me but I don't want anyone telling me who I can or can not be friends with. If any of you are guilty of that, I hope you rethink your position and let everyone make up their own mind who they choose to be friends with and interact with, since everyone here is an adult and should be able to make up their own mind.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.
Sincerely,

Evelyn
:)

Hi Peter and Everyone,

I'd also like to post while this thread is still open, I'm writing an article about my early experiences with Adlandpro Classifieds for the several years before this Community was created. There are many ways that the advertising area has always been of higher quality than other ad sources, and now many other places are just trying to catch up in one of those ways, but they are all a decade behind and they think they have a new big idea that's always been here since 1998. (This isn't the article, LOL it's almost turning into it!)

I also agree with Mary Evelyn, I've never seen the point in adults saying, "if you're friends with so&so then I won't be your friend"...that's a very 3rd grade behavior. If you don't like whoever else, don't lose your current friend because they have another friend who you don't want to be buddies with. geez. People have things in common with other people, some are really fun to talk to about goofy junk, some make more logical sense to us than others, some people have an exuberant addiction to advertising, whatever we find in other people that we like, is nobody else's business.

The same can be said about advertisers, I just said that...they are people, too :) If advertisers have focus and stay in the ad forums and are not bothering anyone, then they should not be bothered either. There's room in this community for everyone to do their own thing and if they are doing it where they're allowed to, then it's nobody's place to complain.

If I finish my article about the historically "different and better" since before the turn-of-the-century Adlandpro Classifieds within the next few hours, I'll post it here.

I may add more to this later, it's my "nearly 14 year" review:

*****

Adlandpro Free World Classifieds: What's Always Been Different And Better?

Here are just a few of the free benefits that impress me the most about Adlandpro Classifieds since it was created in 1998 and even more now as we near 2012:

1. We can geo-target and category-target our ads for free, no extra charge, always.

2. We can choose to be notified by email when people click through our ads to visit our sites, and if they are an Adlandpro member, their link is provided to us in that notification so we can easily contact them, these great benefits have also always been free.

3. We can choose to have our contact info from our profile automatically included with our ads.

I've been an affiliate of Adlandpro Classifieds since 1998, it's one of the first ad sources I used, and other sources didn't bring in as much traffic. Now over a decade has passed, the internet is filled with unlimited advertising sites and most of them still don't offer geo-targeting or category-targeting, and some are just starting to offer geo-targeting as if it's a new idea, and charging extra for it. Most ad sites also don't notify us by email when people click through our ads to visit our sites.

I've continued to get longterm visitors to my ads, I recently got a visitor from an ad I posted over a year ago. Adlandpro Classifieds can provide very longterm traffic.

I'm writing this especially for people who've never used Adlandpro Classifieds, or have used it and don't realize the impact of these FREE benefits, so they will be more aware of what Adlandpro has offered for nearly 14 years that other classified ad sites don't offer. That's why Adlandpro Free World Classifieds has been a mainstay of internet marketers since the turn of the century for marketers who recognize high quality advertising.

These sound like small simple issues, they are very important, these are free benefits that Adlandpro Classifieds has ALWAYS offered, and can help you to more easily gain leads and signups for your businesses.

Adlandpro Classifieds has always given us the free options to find leads in the areas that are best for our businesses, and to easily have communications between advertiser and visitor.

Here are the banners I made for Adlandpro about 12 years ago, maybe longer than that:

The banners are below, but here's how to find them in this labyrinth, if you want to take a trip and get lost, actually how to find your affiliate link with the banners:

Click the "Affiliates" tab near the top of this site....then "Affiliate Custom Page" on the left side,
then scroll down to the banner area, and above the first banner, look for "Extra images can be found on this page" and click the "page" link!

YAY!

Then you'll find my bannersss...from the late 1990's: These are for the advertising area, that was The Adlandpro for 6 years before this community was created in 2004, the Classifieds brought me lots of traffic, more than other sources:

It's great when I still sometimes see my banners being displayed online by other people!

That's called "longterm".

Hi Evelyn & Kathleen,

I certainly agree that no one has the right to tell others who to b friends with in the community and that's true offline as well. We know that in the past this was happening and as a result misunderstandings happened more often then not. This was mostly behind the scenes activity cos it would look bad to write about it in public. Those that allowed themselves to be influenced by others basically lost the opportunity to meet some interesting people and interact with them.

When I read your post in a way it reminded me that when a couple gets married each has friends from their past and there is an attempt to meld them into a friendship with their spouses. Sometimes it works out well and sometimes it doesn't. I know I remained friends with people that my wife didn't click with and the opposite was true too. I never thought for a moment thought to tell her to drop them as friends and my wife felt the same way about it. In some cases the friendships lasted a lifetime and in some they dwindled into people we contact from time to time. There were a few instances when first impressions changed over the years and the friendship became a common one for both of us.

Kathleen, very interesting history lesson about Adland. During the period I was marketing online I used the classified ads and did get good hits on the ads.

I must say that I had planned a different post before locking this forum up again. I had prepared a post about delusions and decided after reading both your posts to maintain the positivity and leave the delusion post for another day.

Shalom,

Peter

P.S. Tomorrow morning I'll lock this thread up around midnight Eastern time.
