Luis,

The Dali painting that you brought here really shows that Dali was an accomplished portrait artist and that his brush skills were amazing.

Thank you. I learned something good here.

Wow,

I stumbled upon this by accident looking as something totally different.

I will have to look at more of this man's work.

Oh my, what beauty

Do you know something/

ART EXCITES ME:

To open little cupboards of history and have gems like this fall out is a privilage.

Till today I knew nothing of this man.

Just look at the beauty in this picture too.

You guys have some great stuff. I enjoyed seeing Dali being "normal" in the painting of the woman. The Bierstadt is also fantastic! Here's another English/American (besides Wood)

Hello Kathleen and Roger,

I agree, Bierstadt is absolutely fantastic. I am deeply impressed and will search for more paintings by him as soon as possible.

If you allow me a little digression, however, now I would like to post one of the several portraits of one of Dali's best friends, Sir John Dunn, painted in 1958 (by the "normal" Dali of course). It has no mountain as a background but in its own way, it is as impressive as one of those majestic landscapes of Bierstadt.
