RE: Mountain pictorial paintings. A contrast of styles

Hi Roger,

I was looking for something by Robert Wood, I have a reproduction of his Mt. Rainier, but then I liked this one better. This painting gives a feeling of "being there" walking down a snow-covered path in dappled sunlight, and the mountain seems like a light at the end of a tunnel. I couldn't find a larger image.

I love your Robert Woods painting.

I can't find a bigger one either.

The light effect on the mountains is wonderful. It shows a great understanding of composition. Thanks for bringing this here.

I'm glad that this forum works. It's a way to view many artists but with a theme. It stops us getting too far off subject and ensures a good chance to compare styles.

Here's another Robert Woods mountain.

"Dream Lake" is one of Robert Wood's finest mountain scenes. It was painted high in Rocky Mountain National Park, where Mt. Hallett looms over the aptly titled "Dream Lake." The colors are deep and rich and the monumental peak is beautifully painted.

Painted in the 30's. I don't know of any other Dali mountain paintings.

Do you?

Roger

Hello Roger,

There is at least this one that Dali put as a background to his "Portrait of Mrs Ruth Daponte"; in my opinion, pretty much the same as the one in "Mountain Lake."

Hugs,

Miguel
