North Korea Causes Fear & Worry As Newest Satellite Images Reveal Horrifying Activity
N.K. leader Kim Jong-un (pictured) is carrying on boldly with his nation’s ill-conceived nuclear program as his movements reveal his hand.
One of the only good things about the way that North Korea does things is that because they are so rushed, they have very little time to properly hide what it is that they are up to. For that matter, their technology doesn’t really allow for them to stop the state of the art satellites and other devices that lurk to tell on the Hermit Kingdom’s every movement. All of their money is spent on nuclear weapons development.
The International Business Times has confirmed that “satellite images recently detected hectic activity at the North Korean nuclear test site, Punggye-ri,” and are likely a sign that more WMD testing is on the world’s horizon.
Mt. Mantap is more like “Mt. Mishap” since prior testing has destabilized the mountain, yet this is the site of even more tunneling and similar work. Already, North Korea’s ineptitude has buried at least 200 of their own people and they risk poisoning half of China with nuclear waste if the mountain sees any more abuse.
This activity seems to indicate that the Hermit Kingdom is moving where their testing site due to former mishaps.
The new work means that China (and all of Asia) is supposed to trust the decisions of a North Korean engineering team. That very thought alone is terrifying. Not only are they unskilled by modern world standards but they don’t dare report to Kim Jong-un with any news other than the green light to test.
38 North has said that the area where past testing was done in the “North Portal” seems to have been “abandoned” as fresh work begins at the “West Portal.” They also report that “At the West Portal, there has been a consistently high level of activity since North Korea’s last nuclear test. This includes a routine presence of vehicles and personnel around the portal, movement of mining carts from the portal to the adjacent spoil pile and signs of fresh spoil being dumped onto the pile.”
This is what would need to happen if the D.P.R.K. were to continue forward with their testing, so this is more than mildly worrisome.
“These activities suggest that tunnel excavation is underway at the West Portal, as the North Koreans expand the site’s potential for future nuclear testing,” the U.S. thinktank goes on to state.
Ryan Barenklau, CEO and founder of Strategic Sentinel said, “The tunneling is occurring at the West Portal and activity near that area has been relatively high for the last month. They are most likely digging deeper and expanding the complex underneath so they can continue their normal operations.”
He also said, “The last two tests were conducted one year apart. These mining operations take time and there is no telling just how badly the mountain has been damaged due to the previous tests.” This means that Kim Jong-un could be stymied by the fact that he has to rebuild his testing site, but he is moving ahead undaunted by his nation’s past errors. Reasearch will likely continue during this entire rebulding time, too.
Strategic Sentinel also tweeted that “Pyongyang Radio had broadcast secret coded messages over its 6400kHz radio station,” yet another red flag regarding a possible nuclear test.
“Pyongyang likes to send out coded messages on the weekend, especially Saturday morning US time, and does this regularly. December 9th was one of those weekend messages,” admits Barenklau.
Mt. Montap, the mountain that North Korea may yet topple.
“Rarely, Pyongyang will start to send them out at random times multiple times per week. That is usually indicative of a large provocation or diplomatic move, but not always. Again, we really don’t know for sure what they are doing with those messages. We don’t necessarily care to try and understand the messages themselves. We look for how often and when.” the founder also declared.
Does the foolish leadership of North Korea think that the intellegence community in the U.S. takes off weekends? Are they just trying to taunt and provoke as they ready for a new test and/or build the site for such a test?
All signs point to a nuclear exercise and regardless of why North Korea choses to conduct them as they do, the fall out from these actions could be much worse than the fall out from their weapons. Then again, that depends of if they can keep the top on the mountain.
