Is This the End of a Christian Europe?

BOB ESCHLIMAN

(Reuters photo)

In 732 a relatively small army of French Christians led by Charles Martel defeated an invading Muslim army in the Battle of Tours, near Poitier, France. Abd-ar-Rahman, the Muslim governor of Cordoba, Spain was killed in the fighting, and the Moors retreated from what is now France, never to establish themselves north of the Pyrenees.

Yesterday, the French had a similar opportunity to repulse the Muslim invasion that is destroying the 2000-year old Gaulish Christian culture that arose from the ashes of the Roman Empire, but no Frankish army showed up at the French polling stations to repulse the invasion.

Instead, Emmanuel Macron, a "Useful Infidel," was swept into power as President of France. Unlike in the United States, Hungary and Poland, and to a lesser extent in Great Britain, where the ascendant political leaders of those countries at least recognize the threat of Islam to their cultures, Macron is a globalist and an "open promoter of multiculturalism." As such, he does not consider Islamism a national threat because the French nation, or, as he has said, French culture, does not really exist.

For the far left and its Muslim allies, this is true, because French culture is, despite the violent secularizing of the French Revolution and intervening years of Socialist governments, at its core, Christian.

And so, the culture that gave us Chartres Cathedral, Mont St. Michel, Bernard Of Clairvaux, St. Louis and Notre Dame Cathedral and Jean d'Arc has, according to its new president, ceased to exist.

This assessment isn't ours alone, according to the Diversity Macht Frei website, the Macron leaks of emails allegedly hacked by hackers associated with the American 4Chan community, contain secret proposals that would lead to the Islamization of France and Europe. These are shown in a Powerpoint presentation which appears to have come from the Institut Montaigne. Harmonizing education between countries on different sides of the Mediterranean is one of the key objectives:

  • Create a common history textbook with Italy, Spain, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia (3) in order to put in historical perspective the mutual contributions and religious convergences between the two shores of the Mediterranean.
  • Within the 3+3 framework, we recommend the creation of a commission of historians responsible for drawing up a common history textbook. The aim of this work will be:
    • to create a common base of objective historical knowledge founded on the logic of a historical "draw" [stalemate]
    • to develop a sense of belonging to a common history
    • to reduce the fantasies of victimization on one side as well as civilizational superiority on the other

The writers at Diversity Macht Frei say the document also recommends the introduction of Arabic teaching to French schools, including bi-lingual classes. This is justified by with the claim that Muslims are currently getting their "Arabic fix" from mosques, where they risk being radicalized.

Thus "soft Islamization" that is being advocated as the remedy for "hard Islamization" and this represents a kind of de facto reward being offered to jihad violence. In this way, Jihad gets results. It leads to societies being Islamized, one way or the other, conclude theDiversity Macht Frei writers.

Other plans for measures to Islamize France include facilitating mosque construction by making it easier to arrange finance for it and providing reserved Muslim areas in municipal cemeteries. Again this is justified by claiming that it will lead to the emergence of a "French Islam."

The email that references this presentation can be seen through this link.

It says: "The PowerPoint study on the Islam of France (provisional and very confidential): prepared by the IM [Institut Montaigne] and Hakim El Karoui, who was introduced to you [Emmanuel Macron} at a previous lunch."

Some basic facts on Hakim El Karoui shared by the Diversity Macht Frei writers:

There are two key takeaways for Americans in the French election and the Macron emails that show just what a close thing our election was for American and Western Judeo-Christian culture.

The first is that, this [Italian publication] Figaro article shows, some references to these proposals have already been made in the mainstream French and European press so the idea of "French Islam" is not that far-out in terms of the thinking of the left-wing intelligentsia in France. What wasn't known until the hacked emails was that Macron's people were on board with it.

The second is that while American voters stopped, at least temporarily, the "fundamental transformation of America" led by the Obama Red–Green Axis, European voters apparently have no interest in doing the same in the cradle of Western Christian culture. Reinventing the West is now the accepted policy of the French government, so if our common cultural heritage is to be saved, it is up to the peoples of the Anglospere and Central Europe to do it, because France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria are already gone.

Scientology Facilities Closed After Police Find People Held Captive Inside

Two Scientology centers in Tennessee were closed after law enforcement workers discovered patients being held and medicated against their will.

Two psychiatric facilities which are operated by the Church of Scientology were closed this week after police followed a tip and found patients being held and medicated against their will in both centers. The Cannon Courier reports that tiny cabins and a double-wide trailer were searched and shut down after a call was received from inside one of the facilities. The prisoner who made the call was ultimately found imprisoned in a locked cabin.

Police told the press that after receiving the call, they proceeded up the hill and through a gate which had a makeshift paddock secured by a steel latch. One of the facility’s caretakers allowed the police entry, and it was shortly after that the caller was spotted through a Plexiglass window.

“He [was] locked inside the cabin with no way to remove himself from the building,” the police report stated.

Reportedly, the man had been held captive at the facility for nine months and had been treated with “unknown medications” so he might be “cleansed” through Scientology. One of the officers remarked,

“He [stated] that he has been there for nine months and is being mistreated and falsely imprisoned and all he wants is to go home.”

The man lived in a small room with a single bed, which was “bare except for one sheet that he covers up with.” The report added, “His bathroom is the only room with a light.”

A woman was later recovered on site, and both rescued individuals were rushed to the nearby hospital.

As a result of the findings, the operator of the facility, Marc Vallieres, was arrested and charged with two felonious counts of facilitation of kidnapping, reports AOL. Two other men who worked at the facility pleaded guilty to misdemeanors. It was later announced that all Church of Scientology facilities in Cannon County had been closed and that none will be allowed to open in the area in the future.

What If Everything We’re Being Told About U.S.-North Korea Tensions Is Wrong?

“A North Korean delegation will attend a large multilateral economic summit in Beijing next week, China’s Foreign Ministry announced Tuesday, underlining its reluctance to join American efforts to completely isolate the regime in Pyongyang.”

The problem, of course, is that this isn’t the sanctioned tactic. When Trump and his crew said they wanted China to step up on North Korea, what they meant was they wanted China to join in on the sanctions and the international condemnation — in other words, the demonization of Kim Jong-un.

Take, for instance, the reaction of former vice president Joe Biden’s deputy national security advisor, Ely Ratnor, to news of China’s invitation to North Korea.

“Beijing publicly taking foot off gas on pressuring North Korea. Is this what Trump means when he says Xi is ‘doing an amazing job as a leader’?” Ratnor wrote on Twitter Tuesday.

Ratnor failed to note, however, that China has publicly stated all along that trying to muscle out Kim’s regime is the absolute wrong strategy, and that the diplomatic approach is the way to go.

And China isn’t alone.

Even among U.S. allies in the region, diplomatic negotiation is preferable to military confrontation. As of Tuesday, South Korea has a new president, Moon Jae-in, and he’s a man who agrees with China that the U.S. should back off with the warships and allow discussions to resume.

In fact, Moon says that under his leadership, South Korea should be the party leading talks with its neighbor to the north. It should also be noted that both Moon and China’s President Xi Jinping have said negotiations with North Korea will end before they even begin if the Hermit Kingdom doesn’t first agree to certain concessions on its nuclear program.

So here we have a global superpower offering an olive branch via an invitation to an economic summit and a new regional leader who has said, in effect, that his country is willing to take the responsibility of de-escalating tensions.

One might be forgiven for thinking the U.S. presence in Asia is no longer needed, even in the context of the mainstream narrative that’s been splashing across news feeds for those previously mentioned weeks upon weeks.

But the warships will stay. The aircraft carriers will stay. The joint annual military drills with allies in the region will continue. And the United States, as Donald Trump himself has said, will have a strongpresence in Asia for a very long time.

The reason for this has perhaps been there, in plain sight, all along — the Belt and Road Initiative.

This grand undertaking, birthed and led by China, is a push to create a permanent trade route connecting China, Africa, and Europe. Infrastructure investment alone would be worth billions, and it doesn’t require much of an imagination to envision the type of vibrant economic zones that would crop up under that level of international cooperation.

On that front, China has said any nation can contribute to the future prosperity of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. But leave the foolishness at home. It’s about commerce, China says, and peaceful exchange.

And it means any nation. It proved that Tuesday because the economic summit China just invitedNorth Korea to is the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

That’s the olive branch China just extended to Kim Jong-un. It’s saying North Korea, even under the Kim regime, can get in on the action. But again, as with any other nation, the country would first have to knock off the antics.

Perhaps Donald Trump saw this all along. Perhaps that’s what’s been behind all his fiery China rhetoric from the beginning. The Belt and Road Initiative, after all, has been in the works since 2013. And the Donald, first and foremost, is a businessman.

Maybe he sensed it all was inevitable, that the initiative would be a success, and that in the not-too-distant future there would be a rich, competing trade route established in a far-off part of the world — a notion that would spark jealousy in the heart of even the feeblest of money grubbers.

So maybe he never had any intention of having his military fire on North Korea. Maybe he’s not concerned about the country’s nuclear weapons at all. Maybe it was all just an excuse to build up military hardware in the waters of East and Southeast Asia.

That’s the extreme eastern leg of this new “Silk Road” proposed by China. Ships would sail straightthrough the South China Sea, where China has built artificial islands and fortified them with military hardware. Smart thinking, some might say, if you’re providing security for trillions of dollars’ worth of goods being shipped through those waters.

Maybe all this North Korea craziness was always just a rouse to establish military muscle — again, for the long-term — in a region where a whole lot of dollars could soon be flowing. Recall that staunch ally Japan is right there with one of the world’s most powerful navies.

Perhaps all this was just the United States forcing its way into a physical seat at the Silk Road table and saying to all parties involved that America refuses to be cut, quite literally, out of the loop.

That reality, such as it is, would certainly be preferable to the alternative — which, if taken to its inevitable conclusion, would almost guarantee bloodshed.

LEAKED TAPES REVEAL HOW ITALY REFUSED TO HELP SYRIAN REFUGEES

BY

Italian authorities allowed hundreds of Syrian refugees to drown in 2013 despite being told their boat was in danger, new audio tapes suggest.

On October 10, 2013, a boat with as many as 480 people on board left Zuwara, Libya, heading for the southern Italian island of Lampedusa. It capsized 61 nautical miles south of the island, killing 268 refugees, 60 of them children.

Italian magazine L’Espresso released audiotapes Monday that were given to its investigative reporter Fabrizio Gatti by sources in Malta and document conversations between a member of the ship, Mohanned Jammo, and the Italian authorities.

The recordings reveal that the Italian coast guard was told about the danger the boat was in almost five hours before it capsized, but that officials refused to help and told Jammo —who survived the disaster—that they should try to reach Malta.

The Washington Post reported that the coast guard’s refusal to help came despite an Italian vessel being just 20 miles from the boat —compared to a Maltese vessel, which was 70 miles away. The area the boat was in was Malta’s responsibility under an agreement with Italy but was 118 nautical miles from Malta compared to just 61 from Lampedusa.

Jammo made his first call to Italian authorities at 12:39 p.m. local time, during which he is heard telling the coast guard: “We are dying” and that water was coming into the boat.

In the second of five phone conversations, made at 1:17 p.m., a man tells him the boat is closer to Malta and tells him to call the Maltese authorities. At 1:48 p.m., Jammo calls the Italian coast guard again, saying Maltese authorities told him they were closer to Lampedusa.

The Maltese, in a call to Italian authorities at 4:44 p.m, said they would take control of the rescue mission but asked Italy to send its vessel, which was closer. The Italians refused to send the ship as it represented “an important asset in order to spot new targets” and sending it would render Italy “in charge of transfer to the nearest coast.”

At 5.07 p.m, Italy finally agreed to send a rescue boat after Maltese authorities said that the refugees’ vessel had capsized. But by this point, hundreds are believed to have already drowned.

Since 2013, thousands of refugees and migrants, African, Syrian and many other nationalities, have died making the hazardous Mediterranean crossing to Europe from Libya or Turkey. Most have used the services of traffickers, who have made lucrative sums out of those ready to risk their lives to reach European shores.Whether the incident was a true mix-up of responsibility or a deliberate refusal of assistance, the tapes suggest an unwillingness on the part of Italian authorities to move quickly to save lives.

While rescue efforts have increased since 2013, particularly at the height of the crisis in 2015, the threat of drowning remains for many attempting the journey. At the weekend, more than 200 refugees are feared to have drowned making the crossing from Libya, according to survivors. The U.N. has warned that the risk of boats capsizing is worsening because of the greater use of boats made out of rubber instead of wood.

The Italian and Libyan coastguards have rescued some 7,500 people off the coasts of Libya in the last week alone, Reuters reported. A record 181,000 refugees arrived to Italy by sea in 2016, but the country says the numbers have increased by 30 percent so far this year, preparing the country for the possibility of another record year.
