FOLKSTON, Ga. (AP) — A mandatory evacuation has broadened as a wildfire near the Georgia-Florida line threatens small communities on the edge of the Okefenokee Swamp.

Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge supervisory ranger Susan Heisey said Monday that Moniac and Canaday Loop are ordered to evacuate. She says the fire has crossed state Highway 94 south of the refuge. She doesn't know how many have evacuated the area.

The unincorporated community of St. George already was under a mandatory evacuation order and Charlton County schools closed Monday.

The fire was started by a lightning strike April 6 and has burned 129,856 acres (52,550 hectares). Wind gusts and dry conditions are raising the risk of it spreading.

Television stations in northeast Florida report smoke can be seen across Nassau, Clay and Duval counties. Officials urge residents to stay indoors.

SOTT Earth Changes Summary - April 2017: Extreme Weather, Planetary Upheaval, Meteor Fireballs

Planetary environmental chaos continued unabated this April.

After Peru was inundated in March, Columbia was next in line for massive rainfall and flooding which provoked deadly landslides in the city of Mocoa. Major flooding and landslides also hit India, Indonesia, the USA and China.

Wildfires once again struck the US state of Florida while very late snow saw many European nations blanketed, with many crops destroyed.

Meteor/fireballs were also spotted from one end of the planet to the other and a comet made a special appearance.

'Each day that Jerusalem is under occupation is an insult to us'
Erdogan lashes ‘racist’ Israel, calls for Muslims to flood Temple Mount
Turkish president warns against moving US embassy to Jerusalem; slams mosque-muffling bill; Israel rejects his ‘baseless slander’

ISTANBUL, Turkey — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday urged Muslims to throng to the Temple Mount in a show of solidarity with Palestinians as he issued a string of challenges to Israel, which he called “racist and discriminatory.”

“We, as Muslims, should be visiting Al-Quds more often,” he said, referring to Jerusalem by its Arabic name.

“Each day that Jerusalem is under occupation is an insult to us,” he added, at the opening ceremony of the International Forum on al-Quds Waqf in Istanbul, Turkey’s Hurriyet news reported.

Erdogan said increased Muslim visits to the Jerusalem holy site “would be the greatest support to our brothers there.”

“Both in terms of our religion and historical responsibility, Al-Quds and the fight of our Palestinian brothers for rights and justice is of great importance to us. We will keep making efforts for Quds to turn into a city of peace,” Erdogan said.

In the blistering speech, which also criticized Israeli legislation and US plans to move their embassy to Jerusalem, Erdogan also called Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians “racist and discriminatory” and said the Israeli-Egyptian blockade of the Gaza Strip “has no place in humanity.”

Israel blockades the Strip in an attempt to keep weapons from reaching the Strip’s Hamas terrorist rulers.

Israel reacted quickly and angrily to Erdogan’s comments, calling them “baseless slander.”

“Anyone who systemically violates human rights in their own country, should not preach about morality to the only democracy in the region,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“Israel strictly adheres to protecting full freedom of worship for Jews, Muslims and Christians — and will continue to do so despite this baseless slander,” the statement said.

Erdogan also warned Israel against the planned Muezzin Bill meant to limit the volume on Muslim calls to prayer, saying he would not allow mosque loudspeakers to be silenced.

“The fact that such an issue is even coming to the agenda is shameful,” he said. “The fact that those who talk about freedom of thought and faith at every opportunity actually approve this step by remaining silent is noteworthy. Inshallah, we will not allow the silencing of prayers from the heavens of Jerusalem,” Erdogan said.

Israel is pushing a bill that would ban religious institutions from using loudspeakers at certain hours, a move seen as targeting Muslim mosques who issue a pre-dawn call to prayer.

Critics say the bill is anti-Muslim, but proponents say it is about noise control and quality of life for people who live near mosques.

But Erdogan issued a challenge to Israel, saying that to move against the mosques would be a strike against freedom of religion.

“Why are you afraid of the freedom of faith if you believe in your faith? I am now reminding Israeli administrators: If you believe in your faith, then why are you afraid of the sound of our prayers?” he said.

Erdogan also spoke about the debates over the possibility of moving the US embassy In Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, saying they are “extremely wrong” and should be dropped.

US President Donald Trump had promised during his campaign to move the American embassy to Jerusalem, whose status is one of the thorniest issues of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Erdogan said everyone should be careful on issues that concerned the status of Jerusalem, warning that even “relocating a stone” in the city could have serious implications.

“The debates over the possibility of US moving its Israel embassy to Jerusalem are extremely wrong and should certainly drop from the agenda,” the Turkish president said.

VLAD’S MEGA PARADE

Vladimir Putin stages massive Victory Day parade featuring huge nukes, military vehicles and 10,000 troops that can ‘repel any potential aggression’

The annual Red Square march and fly-past marks the defeat of Hitler and the Nazis in World War Two

Updated: 9th May 2017,

VLADIMIR Putin today staged a monster military parade showcasing Russia’s huge firepower and hailing as heroes his troops who have seen service in Syria.

And in front of thousands of adoring soldiers, the Russian president declared his armed forces were “ready to repel any potential aggression”.

The annual Red Square march and fly-past marks the defeat of Hitler in World War Two.

But the strongman was using it today to showcase Russia’s modern military might, with one senior military commander saying it would make foreign foes “salivate”.

A debut Victory Day march was scheduled for schoolchildren in Russia’s new “Yunarmia”, a 30,000-strong militarised patriotic movement nicknamed the Putin Youth Army as established by the Defence Ministry.

The Russian president was personally taking the salute at the parade involving 10,001 troops, 114 units of military equipment and 72 aircraft.

It began at 10am in Moscow – 8am London time – with other commemorations held in cities across Russia’s 11 time zones.

On display in Moscow was the newly developed Tor-M2DT short-range anti-aircraft missile system and the Pantsir-SA surface-to-air missile system, both designed to operate in the Arctic.

The air display was due to include a first outing at the Victory Day event for the Sukhoi Su-30SM fighter jets, which have seen combat action recently in Syria, but this was cancelled due to poor weather.

The famous Russian Knights acrobatic team were due to fly the warplanes over Red Square. On display too were the T-72B3M variant of the T-72 main battle tank.

Their appearance at the march comes just weeks after Russian media sensationally claimed Putin's new "electronic bomb" could disable the US Navy.

Russian air force Commander Col. Gen. Viktor Bondarev said: "What makes this year so special is that virtually each and every pilot who will take part in the 9 May flyby in Moscow has fought in Syria, is highly decorated, and will showcase skills that will make many countries salivate."

He stressed that the "most advanced types of aircraft" were being demonstrated.

The aim was to put on display "our very best achievements, all the good things we have," he said.

This year marks the 72nd anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe.

The sombre occasion is a show of respect to the 27 million Soviet soldiers and civilians who died during the defeat of the Nazis.

Many Russians were today honouring the dead in their own families by taking part in marches to the Immortal Regiment, holding pictures of relatives who perished in the war.
