What Kind of Monster Stabs a Bubbe in the Back?

By

Palestinian youth need another outlet. HAZEM BADER/AFP/Getty Images

The Palestinian Arab teenage terrorists who recently stabbed two octogenarian Bubbes are not your average high school thugs. It takes a particular type of vicious person to approach a cluster of five elderly women taking their midmorning constitutional and stab two of them in the back over and over again in broad daylight.

These brutal kids cannot distinguish between targets and values. It seems that they are not alone—neither can the society in which they live. The value attached to attacking the elderly should be very low on the ladder of machismo achievements, and should invoke disgust. Palestinian leaders, teachers, parents, clerics, even terrorist leaders should shun this attack. But that’s not what happened.

One would hope that parents and children within the Palestinian world as well as their supporters are asking themselves, their families and their students if the stabbing of defenseless octogenarians went too far?

Palestinian youth have been indoctrinated to strike—to kill, to stab, and to run. The messages are all over the internet. So when these Palestinian Arab teenagers attacked a group of Jewish Israelis, albeit old and defenseless Jewish Israelis, in their warped teenaged eyes they scored a great victory. And they got away with it, too. (Although two people were subsequently arrested, they were quickly released). And in the eyes of their contemporaries and cohorts, they are heroes.

The terror attack took place mid-morning on the Haas Promenade in Jerusalem. It is a beautiful, picturesque, walking area that allows one to take in the glorious views of both the modern city of new Jerusalem and the Old City of Jerusalem as well as the hills of the Judean desert. The land it sits on is probably the very site descried inGenesis 22 when, after three days of travels, Abraham looked up and saw Mount Moriah, the place where he would bind his son Isaac as a sacrifice in the famous story known as the Akeidah. Beauty abounds. History resonates.

Arabs and Jews walk, jog and ride their bikes along the paths of the Promenade. There are often public concerts in the well-designed shady spaces and amphitheaters along the paths. There is a wondrous echo chamber where one can call out and hear a series of echoes bouncing back from the various hillsides and mountains of Jerusalem.

At the heart of the matter of this particular attack is a singular message. All terror is horrific and deplorable, but some terror is worse than others. Planning and singling out children is the worst, or so I thought until now where we have a plot to murder Jewish grandmothers in their 80’s. This act recalls the horrible murder of Leon Klinghoffer in 1985. To refresh your memory, Klinghoffer was murdered when Palestinian terrorists took the wheelchair bound elderly Jewish man and threw him off the Achille Lauro, the Greek cruise ship they had hijacked.

In this case, the case of the two elderly Jewish women, there has been no word of condemnation by Palestinian leaders. Arab leaders around the world have said nothing. And certainly, the United Nations has been silent. Where is the revulsion against these heinous acts of violence?

Two Palestinian teenagers are showing the world that any Jew and every Jew is a target. Their method of attack was not like in a bomb attack, when whoever is nearby is hit and may include the elderly or the young by simple virtue of happenstance.

The objective of all terrorists is to frighten. In that, this attack was very successful. But it also displayed for all to see the sheer inhumanity of the attackers and their sponsors. There can be no justification for attacking elderly women from behind, for stabbing them in the back.

One would hope that parents and children within the Palestinian world as well as their supporters are asking themselves, their families and their students if this terror attack went too far? I have heard a few murmurs to that effect but nothing more, certainly no proclamations of condemnation.

Both elderly women victims are expected to recover. One was in intensive care and her wounds are being treated. The second victim is in a heart surgery unit. She is there because the stabbing affected her preexisting heart condition. That should not be a surprise, as people in the 80’s often have heart conditions. What is astounding is that not one of the five elderly women present during the attack, all potential victims, suffered a heart attack during the terrorist attack or as they waited for medical help to arrive.

My hope is that a lesson can be learned. That clear-minded people will see these terrorists for what they are. Will realize that their actions cannot be justified.

And yet, I fear that instead, this will be another example of how the poor Palestinianhas no other option but to attack because of the evil oppressive Israel. How five Israeli Bubbes in their 80’s became evil oppressors that warranted murder remains a mystery to me.

Daily Caller Exclusive: Persian Gulf Sheikhs Gave Bill & Hillary $100 Million

Published May 12, 2016

By Richard Pollock, The Daily Caller News Foundation

A Daily Caller News Foundation investigation reveals that Bill and Hillary Clinton received at least $100 million from autocratic Persian Gulf states and their leaders, potentially undermining Democratic presidential candidate Hillary’s claim she can carry out independent Middle East policies.

As a presidential candidate, the amount of foreign cash the Clintons have amassed from the Persian Gulf states is “simply unprecedented,” says national security analyst Patrick Poole.

“These regimes are buying access. You’ve got the Saudis. You’ve got the Kuwaitis, Oman, Qatar and the UAE. There are massive conflicts of interest. It’s beyond comprehension,” Poole told TheDCNF in an interview.

If This Video Doesn’t Wake You Up & Make You Think, Nothing Else Will

by

How often do we take time out during the day to take a step back and really look at what we, as a whole, are doing on this planet? Most of us are solely concerned with the immediacy of our own lives — going to school, finding a job, and figuring out how we are going to pay bills, feed ourselves, and support the ones we love. And we aren’t to blame for doing so; we have been forced into this way of life. We are taught how the world works and what we need to do in order to survive in it from an early age. As such, we don’t question the wisdom of this path, and are considered strange, even subversive if we choose to stay from it. The sad reality is that we need little pieces of paper representing figurative value in order to survive here. We must pay for our lives.

What’s even worse is that it doesn’t have to be this way. Imagine living on a planet where everybody had their basic needs met: it might seem beyond our gasp, but our species has both the potential and the resources to create this type of existence. However, we need to change as human beings, from the inside out, in order for this to happen. We also have to tackle the monopoly of the corporations and the big banks, who use our elected officials as puppets and as entertainment; we must take away their control over our world.

While we struggle with this conditioned servitude, we are also brainwashed on a daily basis through mass marketing. Corporations today literally dictate what we think we want and need. They control our thoughts and desires, and as a result we continue to consume and they continue to expand, through globalization, at an alarming rate. They wield a tremendous amount of power; they can essentially program us like robots.

And the programs they create do not merely motivate and perpetuate our desire for material wealth, but also govern our perception of what is happening on our planet. This has been going on for decades, and represents one significant reason why our planet is in such a desperate condition. Why do we all desire the same things? Why are these ‘things’ seen as symbols of necessity and success? Why do we need to consume more and more, and why do some feel like outsiders when they cannot (or will not) do so?

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of.”

Edward Bernays (“the father of public relations”), Propaganda, 1928

Is this what we’ve really become? A race of people wanting things? Whether it’s a house, a car, or other material goods, our desire for ‘stuff’ has consumed our lives to the point where we have stopped paying attention to the planet, and what’s actually happening to it. As a result, we have become collectively ignorant, without any clue of what’s going on behind the scenes and little desire to know, because that would force us to accept uncomfortable truths — and perhaps even step outside our comfort zones and change.

“There are essentially only two drugs that Western civilization tolerates: Caffeine from Monday to Friday to energize you enough to make you a productive member of society, and alcohol from Friday to Monday to keep you too stupid to figure out the prison that you are living in.”

– Bill Hicks

The video below illustrates what happens with these material goods, over and over. It seems like it never stops. It was done but Steve Cuts, who has some great images and videos on his Facebook page that we encourage you to check out.

Things Are Changing

We are currently experiencing a massive awakening that has been in the works for many years now. It’s not a secret anymore that a small group of elite, the corporations they run, and the big banks basically control everything. Many people have told us this, the most recent example being Bernie Sanders in adebate with Hillary Clinton; he let the world know that it doesn’t matter who is elected president because the big banks are really the ones pulling the strings and making decisions. Apart from that, we have numerous examples of corporations dictating and pushing government policy; the Trans Pacific Partnership is one clear instance of this in practice.

This group of elite has gained control over our education, health, finance, economics, energy, and more, but people are continuing to oppose them. Genetically Modified Foods are one example of this pushback — over the past two years alone millions of people around the world have protested and lobbied against them. As a result of their efforts, dozens of countries have now banned both the import and growth of GMOs.

Despite the many cards stacked against our doing so, human beings are beginning to see the futility of chasing material wealth. We are finally starting to pay attention, to think critically, and these are the first, most vital steps towards action and change. More and more people are becoming passionate about changing the human experience, and that’s exactly what we need at this time.

IS snipers prevent civilians leaving Fallujah: US official

May 13, 2016

Washington (AFP) - Islamic State snipers are targeting humanitarian corridors established by Iraqi security forces to relieve suffering in the IS-held city of Fallujah, a Pentagon official said Friday.

Baghdad-based military spokesman Colonel Steve Warren said the shooters were preventing residents from escaping Fallujah, which is only about 30 miles (50 kilometers) west of Baghdad and is facing major shortages of basic supplies including medicine.

"We know that the Iraqis have attempted on several occasions to open up humanitarian corridors to allow some of those civilians to come out," Warren told Pentagon reporters in a video call.

"Those have met with generally not much success. ISIL has done things like set up snipers to cover down on those corridors, to kill people as they're trying to get out. So that has really discouraged their use," he added, using an acronym for the IS group.

Warren later said Iraqi forces had tried to set up three corridors, but these have been all but abandoned because of the snipers.

"Word must have spread because no civilians have tried to use the corridors in the last few weeks," he said.

Anti-government fighters took control of Fallujah in early 2014 during unrest that broke out after security forces demolished a protest camp farther west, and it later became an IS stronghold.

Warren said Iraqi security forces now "generally" surround Fallujah and have begun to slowly "chip away" at it.

"This is the very first city that ISIL gained control of," he said.

"ISIL's been there for more than two years, so they are dug in and dug in deep. This is a tough nut for us to crack here. This is a tough nut for the Iraqis to crack."

US forces are training and advising Iraqi partners as they try to repel IS jihadists from the country.

The Pentagon says the IS group is losing ground, and the jihadists have suffered major defeats in Iraq, including the loss of the cities of Heet and Ramadi.

But they remain in control of Iraq's second-largest city Mosul and it is not clear when Iraqi troops will mount an assault to retake it.

Warren said there was no "no military reason" for Iraqi forces to liberate Fallujah before they could tackle Mosul.

About half of Iraq's security forces are focused on protecting Baghdad, where IS fighters claimed responsibility for a string of suicide attacks this week.

At least 94 people were killed in three blasts in Baghdad on Wednesday, the deadliest day in the Iraqi capital this year.

One Woman Stood Up To 330 Neo-Nazis And Is Now The Face Of Anti-Fascism In Sweden

by Brianna Acuesta, True Activist

This woman single-handedly stood up to 330 violent Neo-Nazis as they protested on the streets in Sweden.

Tess Asplund, a woman from Sweden, has been an activist for 26 years now and said that:

“I normally stand with a raised fist at demonstrations, this is not new to me.”

However, a photo of the brave photographer/activist raising her fist in protest went viral for one iconic reason: she was raising it all alone against 330 marching Neo-Nazis.

Last week, the Neo-Nazis, part of a group called the Nordic Resistance Movement, obtained a permit to demonstrate and did so in Borlange, Dalarna, in central Sweden. The group rallied and marched on the busy streets on International Workers’ Day and were protected by police.

Asplund was taking part in a counter demonstration against the Nazis with a group called Dalarna Against Racism when she saw the Nazis approaching and decided that she could not allow them to walk by without showing her disdain for their movement.

She ran in front of them and put her fist in the air to defy the group. She told The Daily Mailabout the moment:

“I just felt when they came walking that “you shouldn’t be here” and then one of them stared at me and I stared back. He said nothing and I said nothing, and then the police came and removed me.”

The photographer behind the viral photo, David Lagerlof, also described the incident he saw unfold:

“In front of her, the organisations leader set moves closer in solemn silence. The woman’s gaze meets that of the man in the middle, the leader of the nazi organisation who appears to stare back at her. There is a short “battle of the gazes” before the police steps in and removes the woman.”

Asplund was removed by the police and the protest by the Nazi group went on, but the photo of her defiance has since been shared thousands of times. Her act has become a photographic representation of the outrage many people have towards the fascist forces still in motion in the Nordic nations.

The photo is already being hailed as an iconic moment in Sweden’s modern history that will last for decades and be a symbol of the anti-fascism movement. A comparable photo in history is that of “Tank Man,” where a man stood alone in front of a line of army tanks to protest the Chinese suppression of the Tiananmen Square protests.

Many of the members of the Nordic Resistance Movement have been convicted of violent crimes and their belief system is rooted in racism and violence. When asked if she was scared to face the men alone, Asplund replied:

“I am not afraid of them.”
