What was one of the better kept secrets of the 21st century is now blown totally open. The three corporations above are responsible for much of the world’s chocolate influx, 60% of which comes out of West Africa.

In 2000, it was revealed that the harvesting and processing of the cacao plant was left to children, often unpaid and living in slavery. Imprisoned, forced to go to the bathroom on the roof or in a cup and malnourished, children would either be sold into it for $30 or be kidnapped, thinking they were applying for some sort of paying job.

The rules and regulations are so lax there that there is no government to step in and stop the atrocities. This horrific state of child slavery is also the perfect cheap labor for candy companies that want to sell you chocolate for dirt cheap prices. Why do you think it only costs $1 for a chocolate bar?

The chocolate companies pleaded ignorance; Hershey senior vice president Robert M. Reese told Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Bob Fernandez that “no one, repeat, no one, had ever heard of this” (as if he could somehow know that). After confirmation that the slavery was indeed happening and that it was as bad as the documentary depicted, U.S. Rep. Eliot Engel quickly drafted US legislation commanding the FDA to introduce “slave free” labeling on chocolate, similar to organic labeling. The bill immediately gained approval in the House of Representatives and was on its way to the Senate where people were ready to draft it into law. It was then that the chocolate companies stepped in, promising to self regulate the issue, stating that there would be no more child slavery by 2005. It turned out, they didn’t do much. It’s 2015 and there are now more child slaves than there were in 2001. 51% more, in fact. There are now 1.4 million children carrying back-breaking sacks of cacao, having their bodies whipped and beaten and crushing themselves from dawn to dusk for no pay.

Now that it has become evident that Hershey, Nestle and Mars have no way of handling the issue (besides pushing back the date of completion to 2008, then 2020), California residents have filed a class-action lawsuit, requiring the companies to pay damages to people that have purchased the product “unwittingly” supporting child slave trade, and also that they print new labels that indicate the product was made with child slave labor.

“America’s largest and most profitable food conglomerates should not tolerate child labor, much less child slave labor, anywhere in their supply chains,” the complaint reads. “These companies should not turn a blind eye to known human rights abuses… especially when the companies consistently and affirmatively represent that they act in a socially and ethically responsible manner.”

Dr. Sebi: The Man Who Cures AIDS, Cancer, Diabetes and More

Meet Dr. Sebi, a pathologist, biochemist and herbalist. He came to the U.S. from Honduras and is on a mission to heal humanity. As it happens, he has been curing some of the most deadly diseases on the planet for almost 30 years. AIDS, cancer, diabetes, lupus and epilepsy are just a few of the ailments he has completely reversed. In fact, he is so committed to his work that he took on the Attorney General of New York in a Supreme Court trial — and won.

Standing Up to the Food and Drug Administration

Back in the 1980’s, Dr. Sebi ran a variety of ads in newspapers like the New York Post, stating: “AIDS has been cured by the Usha Research Institute, and we specialize in cures for Sickle Cell, Lupus, Blindness, Herpes, Cancer and others.” The ad caught the eye of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the agency subsequently sued Dr. Sebi for false advertisement and practicing without a license.

The judge presiding over the case requested that Dr. Sebi provide one witness for each disease he claimed to have cured. When he instead furnished 70 witnesses to support his argument — showing without a doubt that he did in truth heal all the diseases listed in the ad — the judge declared the doctor not guilty on all counts.

Even with his outstanding victory in court, along with testimonials from celebrities and a multitude of people cured by his method, Dr. Sebi’s protocol is still suppressed to this day.

Healing with Electric Foods and Botanicals

The basis behind Dr. Sebi’s approach is clearing the body of excessive mucous, which is believed to be the root of all disease. He explains:

“Our research reveals that all manifestation of disease finds it genesis when and where the mucous membrane has been compromised. For example, if there is excess mucous in the bronchial tubes, the disease is bronchitis; if it is in the lungs, the disease is pneumonia; in the pancreatic duct, it is diabetes; in the joints, arthritis.”

Moreover, mucous in the retina of the eye will cause blindness; if it is found around the thyroid gland, cancer of the thyroid is the result. Basically, disease will arise in the body wherever there’s an accumulation of this stagnant toxin.

According to Dr. Sebi, blood and starch in the diet are the main reasons we can be overrun with clogging plaque. He believes starch is a chemical that wreaks havoc on health, mainly because it causes acidity within the body. The same with animal products. On the whole, an acid body will create toxic mucous and congest the system — leading to inflammation, whereas an alkaline pH will do just the opposite and support vitality.

You may have guessed by this point that consuming an alkaline diet is key. But Dr. Sebi takes his protocol a step further by recommending fasting, along with taking botanical remedies which detox each cell and replace depleted minerals.

The remedies are classified as natural vegetation cell food and nourish cells at a very deep level. Because of this, many find their appetite disappears when they begin using the botanicals. Dr. Sebi notes:

Washington, D.C. – An anonymous whistleblower within the U.S. intelligence community provided a cache of classified intelligence documents to The Intercept, which revealed the extremely dysfunctional nature of the American drone warfare/targeted assassination program.

The eight-part investigation, which included documents, analysis, slides, and visuals, was released on Thursday as “The Drone Papers,” by The Intercept.

The insightful reporting by The Intercept’s Jeremy Scahill and fellow investigative journalists analyzed and explored the manner in which drone strikes have been carried out by the U.S. in Iraq, Somalia, Yemen, and Afghanistan; ultimately questioning the legitimacy and legality of these extrajudicial killings.

The stunning array of classified information revealed an extreme lack of precision in the drone assassination campaign, with one document reporting that “nearly 90 percent of people killed in airstrikes were not the intended targets” over one five-month period.

The report focused on the use of drones as “President Barack Obama’s weapon of choice, used by the military and the CIA” to carry out assassinations in both declared war zones and areas outside of recognized war zones. While the administration has consistently stated that the drone program is operated as a precision program carried out with strict oversight and regulation, evidence reveals that this is false. Operations outside of declared war zones were done with very little restriction, as “it was not until May 2013 the White House released a set of standards and procedures for conducting such strikes.”

Following the publication of the report, Amnesty International has called on the U.S. Congressto start “an immediate independent inquiry into the Obama administration’s drone strikes overseas.”

“These documents raise serious concerns about whether the USA has systematically violated international law, including by classifying unidentified people as ‘combatants’ to justify their killings,” Naureen Shah, Director of Security with Human Rights at Amnesty International USA said.

Additionally, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has come out to condemn the U.S. drone assassination programafter the revelations by the Intercept, stating that “the Obama administration’s lethal program desperately needs transparency and accountability because it is undermining the right to life and national security.”

“A review of the lethal force program must be transparent and include disclosure of the United States’ compliance with its legal obligations,” Hina Shamsi of the ACLU’s National Security Project said. “These eye-opening disclosures make a mockery of U.S. government claims that its lethal force operations are based on reliable intelligence and limited to lawful targets.”

It’s important to keep in mind that these foreign countries don’t hate us for our “freedom.” They hate us for killing their innocent mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters as they sleep.

Unless the U.S. reins in its imperialistic war machine, expect the blowback from our interventionist policies to continue.

Istanbul (AFP) - Germany's PEGIDA movement holds an anti-migrant rally Monday a year on from its formation, highlighting a European backlash towards a massive influx that has heaped pressure on Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The demonstration comes a day after Swiss voters returned a historically strong result for a populist party known for its virulent campaigns against immigrants and Islam, and following a knife attack on a German mayoral candidate who championed refugee issues.

Monday's rally, due to start at 1600 GMT in PEGIDA's stronghold of Dresden, marks a contrast to efforts by Merkel who over the weekend made a crucial one-day trip to Turkey, where she hailed progress in helping Ankara deal with the migrant crisis and vowed to push forward its long-stalled EU membership bid.

The European Union wants Turkey to do more to tighten its border security and help contain the historic influx of Syrians and others escaping conflict, persecution and poverty.

In return, Ankara wants greater recognition for its role in hosting more than two million Syrian refugees, an increase in financial help and an acceleration of its stuttering drive for EU membership.

Merkel and the Turkish leadership indicated officials were making progress towards a deal on cooperation, although neither suggested a final agreement had been reached.

She said Berlin was prepared to support opening EU accession talks on economic and monetary affairs, and would also consider opening more of the 35 total so-called "policy chapters".

- 'Dynamising accession' -

Speaking after her talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Merkel said the EU and Turkey were in agreement to work closer "on dynamising the accession process" towards Turkey's EU membership and also visa liberalisation for Turks wanting to travel to the EU's Schengen zone.

"The talks in that direction are very promising and will be continued," said Merkel.

Erdogan, who for months has bitterly criticised the EU's attitude towards Turkey, also called for more accession chapters to be opened, while Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu praised a "better approach" from the 28-nation bloc.

Germany has been Europe's top destination for refugees, most of whom travel through Turkey and the Balkans, and is expecting to register up to a million asylum requests this year.

While many Germans have welcomed the refugees, there has also been a backlash with Merkel's party losing support while the long-dormant anti-Islamic PEGIDA protest movement has again drawn thousands of followers.

Simmering tensions ended in violence in the western city of Cologne on Saturday when a man with a knife attacked independent mayoral candidate Henriette Reker, who is active in helping refugees, leaving her with serious neck wounds and injuring four others.

Reker won Sunday's election with an absolute majority.

The attacker, a 44-year-old unemployed man arrested at the scene, had "a racist motivation" according to police, and was said to have been close to the extreme right in the 1990s.

- 'Migration pressure' -

In another sign of increasing anti-migrant sentiment in Europe, a Swiss populist party known for its virulent campaigns against immigration, the European Union and Islam won a record number of seats in the Alpine nation's parliamentary elections on Sunday.

Merkel said that the fact Turkey had accomplished the immense task of looking after more than two million Syrian refugees on relatively little funding had led to "migration pressure" which resulted in the current unprecedented influx of migrants into Europe.

"We will engage ourselves more strongly financially as the European Union. Germany will play its part," she promised.

More than 630,000 people fleeing war and misery have landed on Europe's shores so far this year, many making risky sea crossings from Turkey to Greece.

Another 12 people drowned off the Turkish coast on Saturday, and on Sunday the Greek coastguard said five migrants including a baby and two boys had died trying to cross the Aegean Sea.

Separately, 20 Afghan would-be migrants bound for Europe were killed in Iran on Sunday when the mini-bus they were travelling in collided with a truck.

As the influx continued, Hungary closed its border with Croatia, forcing thousands of migrants to find a new route to northern Europe through Slovenia and into Austria.

But with numbers growing, Slovenia on Sunday said it would handle no more than 2,500 arrivals a day to ease pressure on both its own and Austria's borders.
