Israel: 3 Palestinians attempting to stab Israelis shot dead

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israelis shot dead three Palestinians they said had attacked them with knives on Saturday in Jerusalem and the West Bank city of Hebron, the latest in a month of violent confrontations.

Police spokeswoman Luba Samri said a 16-year-old Palestinian drew a knife on officers in Jerusalem when they stopped him to ask for identification after a bystander said he was behaving suspiciously. She said the officers shot and killed the teenager after he tried to stab them.

The incident took place near where two Palestinian men boarded a bus earlier in the week and began shooting and stabbing passengers, killing two.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Israel's military said an Israeli pedestrian shot and killed a Palestinian who tried to stab him in the West Bank city of Hebron, a frequent flashpoint where a few hundred Jewish settlers live in close proximity to tens of thousands of Palestinians. The military said the Palestinian was shot dead before he could harm the man.

Later, police said a Palestinian woman stabbed a female officer at a border police base in Hebron before the officer shot her dead. The officer's hand was lightly wounded.

Over the past month, eight Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks, most of them stabbings. In that time, 39 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire, including 18 labeled by Israel as attackers, and the rest in clashes with Israeli troops.

Most of the attacks on Israelis have been carried out by Palestinians with no known ties to militant groups. The daily attacks have caused a sense of panic across Israel and raised fears that the region is on the cusp of a new round of heavy violence.

The violence erupted a month ago over the Jewish New Year, fueled by rumors that Israel was plotting to take over Jerusalem's most sensitive holy site, a hilltop compound revered by Jews as the Temple Mount and home to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam's third-holiest shrine and a key national symbol for the Palestinians.

Israel has adamantly denied the allegations, saying it has no plans to change the status quo at the site, where Jews are allowed to visit but not pray. The Palestinian fears have been fueled by a growing number of Jews visiting the compound in recent months, especially during holidays, with the encouragement of Jewish activists groups and senior government officials.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has at times tried to calm the situation by saying violence is not in the Palestinians' interest and behind the scenes has ordered his security forces to reduce frictions.

But Israel accuses him of incitement, saying he has not condemned attacks on Israelis and falsely accused Israel of having "summarily executed" a Palestinian boy who stabbed an Israeli boy. The Palestinian teen is recovering in an Israeli hospital.

Israel has taken unprecedented steps in response to the attacks. It has deployed soldiers in Israeli cities and erected concrete barriers outside some Arab neighborhoods of east Jerusalem, where most of the attackers came from. Ordinary citizens have also increasingly taken up arms to protect themselves.

On Saturday, the roadblocks on the outskirts of Arab neighborhoods caused massive traffic jams, with some frustrated motorists saying they had been waiting for several hours. On the edge of the Issawiyeh neighborhood, drivers honked their horns at a group of Israeli police and paramilitary border police who were taking their time checking each car and asking some of the younger Palestinians to lift up their shirts to show they were not armed.

At one point, tensions rose palpably and the officers, in riot gear, moved a few meters (feet) into the crowd. One of the officers threw a stun grenade into the line of waiting cars.

Palestinians said they felt the roadblocks were intended as collective punishment and would be ineffective in deterring attackers. Anyone with bad intentions would not pass through a checkpoint and instead try to reach Jewish neighborhoods through dirt roads, they said.

Taxi driver Emad Obeid, 30, said he and his passenger had been waiting for close to four hours, and the line had barely moved.

"People are very upset," he said. "This will just cause new attacks."

In one of the attacks Saturday, Uri Nuriel, 31, said he was riding his bike in Jerusalem when he noticed a Palestinian smiling oddly. "He was holding his bag suspiciously, I thought it was an explosive," he said. He informed police officers stationed nearby, who then confronted the youth. Police said they shot him dead after he tried to stab them.

Many of the attackers have been Palestinian youth, and a local police commander at the scene of Saturday's incident pleaded for their parents to restrain them.

"I call on the parents to show responsibility for their children and tell us, the police, about any unusual behavior," said Haim Shmueli. "Inform us so that we can deal with these kids and won't have to get to a place where we have to track them down here on the streets and neutralize them."

On Friday, Palestinian assailants firebombed a West Bank site revered by Jews as the tomb of the biblical figure Joseph. United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned the attack, saying extremists were trying to make the current conflict a religious one.

‘US forces knew they were attacking Kunduz hospital’

Fri Oct 16, 2015 7:38AM

A new report has revealed that the US military had gathered intelligence on an Afghan hospital in Kunduz days before destroying it.

American special operations analysts had monitored the Afghan hospital well ahead of a US military attack that leveled it on October 3, the Associated Press reported on Thursday.

According to the report, US forces pressed ahead with the deadly attack because they believed the hospital was being used by a Pakistani operative to coordinate Taliban activity.

However, so far no evidence has surfaced that suggests a Pakistani was killed in the attack. Doctors without Borders (MSF), the international medical charity that ran the hospital, have also confirmed this. The MSF also said that none of its staff was Pakistani.

The special ops analysts had put together a dossier that included maps with the hospital circled on them, along with indications that intelligence agencies, using overhead surveillance, had the location and activities around it under control, according to a former intelligence official who is familiar with some of the documents describing the site.

The intelligence also suggested the hospital was being used as a Taliban command and control center and may have housed heavy weapons.

The damaged hospital in which the Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) medical charity operated is seen on October 13, 2015 following a US airstrike in the northern city of Kunduz.

The former official, who was not authorized to comment publicly, said that after the attack, which happened during a purported battle to retake the northern Afghan city of Kunduz from the Taliban, some US analysts assessed that the strike had been justified. They concluded that the Pakistani, believed to have been working for his country's Inter-Service Intelligence directorate, had been killed.

Doctors without Borders says the US the AC-130 gunship airplane made five separate strafing runs over an hour, unleashing heavy fire on the main hospital building, which contained the emergency room and intensive care unit. Surrounding buildings were not struck, they said.

The MSF has condemned the attack as a war crime. According to the organization, the strike killed 14 hospital staff and 10 patients, and that death toll may rise.

The Pentagon initially announced that the attack was to protect US troops engaged in a firefight with militants, but President Barack Obama has since acknowledged that it was a mistake.

The Shadow War Is Escalating Between The Banking Cabal And The Global Alliance

Galactic Free Press's picture

It’s been a wild couple of months in economics and geopolitics. We’ve seen chess moves that have changed the dynamics in global power for the positive of humanity, as well as those which are only barely maintaining the status structure.

It’s definitely reaching a do-or-die state of affairs for all involved.

As a contextual overview, there is a shadow war taking place. A western cabal, driven primarily by US and Israeli forces, have been in power for dozens of decades (you can read about it in depth here, as well as some but not all of the most powerful families here). Fortunately though, they are slowing losing grip on their monopoly of control.

There are many names for this power structure, including the deep state, cabal, globalists, elitists, banksters, Zionists and Illuminati, to name but a few. This elite cabal serve to destroy that which doesn’t align with their interests, which as you may have guessed is chaos. In addition, they might still have a successful psy-op campaign on the masses which is inducing some people further into their coma, yet this is disintegrating fast as they no longer dictate the perspective of alternative thinkers.

The reality is more and more
truthseekers are breaking free.

They have so many names because they have so many fingers in so many pies, so it must be made clear that they’re the ones primarily controlling certain governmental action (including US national and foreign policy), the matrix-media and a high proportion of the global economic central and private banking systems.

They have many other layers and factions too. There are secret societies, corporate arms, patents on technological advances, legal mechanisms and political power, as well as a wealth of minions that blindly do their bidding. If only these puppets realized that obeying their perceived masters is at the long-term expense of both themselves and their families, they would stand up and be counted as those who oppose the bloody take-over of our planet.

That leads to the main goal of the cabal; global governance. Once they solidify an overarching legal, social, psychological and even spiritual framework for the worlds people, then their power will be untouchable. They will live on as ‘the men that united the world’, however the truth that wouldn’t reach the history books is that they desecrated, devalued and demonized so much of the cultural and natural wisdom that permeates humanity’s heart.

They are being challenged though. There are alliances that have formed between power brokers from both the West and East. This alliance, which I will call the Western-Eastern Development (WED), is the group engaged in a shadow war with the banksters. At times they are engaged directly, such as the fiasco of the Middle East, and at others indirectly, such as through the creation of new economic structures.

The WEDs are a force of some Eastern power brokers, as well as many people and interest groups in the West who are opposed to the Zionist and New World Order agendas. You can read a fantastic breakdown of some of their recent chess moves here and here.

Of course the new occupation of Syria by the Russian and soon-to-arrive Chinese military is a direct ‘**** you’ to the cabal. After all, IS was funded and weaponized by them to oust Assad so that economic and political control could be further instituted throughout the Middle East. With a union formed there they hoped that the European and American unions, along with certain Eastern sell-outs, could combine for the successful implementation of a global governance.

Yet the tables appear to turning which is highly influenced by the energetic and consciousness shifts happening in our era. This may lead them to even more extreme measures, such as a false flag event which leads to WWIII with Russia, China, Iran and their affiliates. On the other hand, their next move might be an orchestrated global economic meltdown so that agreements such as the TPP, TiSA and TTIP, as well as the UN’s ‘The 2030 Agenda’, could come into instant, dramatic and full-blown effect.

It must be recognized at this point that the UN was created by these shadow puppeteers and that these trade agreements are designed as precursors to a one world government. For an objective critique of the trade agreements, read here, and for the UN agenda, read here.

Furthermore, the stories that the sleeping masses are told, and even our so-called leaders, are full of lies, manipulation and propaganda. We cannot afford to fall for this as a society any longer, otherwise we will continue to be complicit in an agenda that serves to immortalize the blood lines of these mentally ill people, at the expense of human culture, livelihood, health and life itself.

Now of course no power structure is free of corruption and greed, so the WEDs will need appropriate investigation too. Ideally it would be great if they all just came clean and was transparent with the masses so we could work out a team plan. But given the current players have shown what they’re truly worth, it\s clear that they’re not the world leaders we need for an inclusive, honorable, healthy, progressive, equal and united global culture.

The vast majority of people just want love and peace. We need a progressive economy in which nobody slips through an intelligently and morally designed safety net. The environment should be cared for in sustainable ways. We also need a value system that will encourage the true virtues to manifest including cooperating, rather than competing with each other.

Ultimately, the global power dance is in full swing. With a faltering global economy, geopolitical challenges, the WED alliance and the droves of truthseekers waking up, the ivory tower need a new plan. If sense prevails, they’ll work with us to implement a transparent and truly just system for all of humanity’s future, however given their track record, its doubtful they’ll see the light.

Never say never, though.

North Korea rejects more nuclear talks, demands peace treaty with U.S.

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea on Saturday rejected the idea of resuming talks to end its nuclear program, saying previous such attempts ended in failure, and reiterated its demand that Washington come to the table to negotiate a peace treaty.

The statement by the North's foreign ministry came a day after U.S. President Barack Obama and South Korean President Park Geun-hye said in Washington they were open to talks with North Korea on sanctions but that Pyongyang needs to show it was serious about abandoning its nuclear ambition.

"If the United States insists on taking a different path, the Korean peninsula will only see our unlimited nuclear deterrent being strengthened further," the North's foreign ministry said in a statement.

North and South Korea remain technically at war under a truce it signed in 1953 with the United States, which led U.N. forces backing the South, and China, which fought for the North.

North Korea walked away from the so-called six-party talks involving the United States and four other countries in 2008 and went on to conduct two more nuclear tests.

It said only a peace treaty with Washington can permanently resolve the conflict on the Korean peninsula.

Obama said the United States was open to negotiations that could ease sanctions imposed on the North, just as it had done with Iran, which reached a deal in July with major powers.

"We haven't even gotten to that point yet, because there has been no indication on the part of the North Koreans as there was with the Iranians that they could foresee a future in which they did not possess or were not pursuing nuclear weapons," he said.
