Michael Hastings Sent Email About FBI Probe Hours Before Death … Plus More Evidence Questioning the Official ‘Accident’ Line

hastings1

Stephen: This HuffPo story is just one of a number of recent articles which suggest that award-winning journalist Michael Hastings’ death last week may not have been an accident.

At the end of this more-mainstream story you’ll find a very comprehensive compile sage has put together which includes a wider range of stories from a variety of other sources that relates to previous false flags and several additional articles which question the official ‘Hastings had a car accident’ line.

By Melissa Jeltson, Huffington Post – June 23, 2013

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/22/michael-hastings-email_n_3484118.html

Hours before dying in a fiery car crash, award-winning journalist Michael Hastings sent an email to his colleagues, warning that federal authorities were interviewing his friends and that he needed to go “off the rada[r]” for a bit.

The email was sent around 1 p.m. on Monday, June 17. At 4:20 a.m. the following morning, Hastings died when his Mercedes, traveling at high speeds, smashed into a tree and caught on fire. He was 33.

Hastings sent the email to staff at BuzzFeed, where he was employed, but also blind-copied a friend, Staff Sgt. Joseph Biggs, on the message. Biggs, who Hastings met in 2008 when he was embedded in his unit in Afghanistan, forwarded the email to KTLA, who posted it online on Saturday.

Here’s the email, with the recipients’ names redacted.

Subject: FBI Investigation, re: NSA

Hey (redacted names) — the Feds are interviewing my “close friends and associates.” Perhaps if the authorities arrive “BuzzFeed GQ,” er HQ, may be wise to immediately request legal counsel before any conversations or interviews about our news-gathering practices or related journalism issues.

Also: I’m onto a big story, and need to go off the rada[r] for a bit.

All the best, and hope to see you all soon.

Michael

Rumors that the FBI was investigating Hastings began the day after his death, with a couple of mysterious WikiLeaks tweets.

In a rare move, the FBI issued a statement denying that Hastings was under investigation. The Los Angeles Police Department also said it had found no evidence of any foul play in his death.

Hastings, an accomplished war correspondent and sharp political reporter, was best known for writing a critical Rolling Stone profile of General Stanley McChrystal that led to his resignation.

It’s unclear what “big story” Hastings was working on prior to his death, but it might have to do with yet another military bigwig, this time retired general David Petraeus.

The LA Times reported that Hastings was researching a story about a privacy lawsuit brought by Jill Kelley, the Florida socialite who took center stage in the Petraeus cheating scandal, against the Department of Defense and the FBI. According to a person close to Kelley, the paper said, Hastings had plans to meet a representative of hers to discuss the case next week.

sage ‘s Special Compile:

Note: The list of numbers – (1), (2), (3) etc – in this compile relate to the story links sage has included at the end.

By sage – June 23, 2013

Although all the evidence surrounding the death of Michael Hastings, Rolling Stones reporter, not necessarily being an accident is circumstantial at the moment, it is impossible to deny such evidence exists.

Given what we know from past experience of the cabal’s methods and patterns, most of this fits in quite nicely.

With the false flags – from 9/11 to Oklahoma to Boston to London to name a few – we have repeatedly seen the same pattern over and over. (See Story 1) The exercises going on a the same time that mirrored the actual events, the set-up and prior “investigation” by FBI or CIA of the “perpetrators” (Story 2), the fake photos and videos from the scenes, the exposure of actors as victims (Story 3)….I could go on and on.

The fate of whistleblowers and exposers seem to follow the same party line over and over as well. Suicides, natural deaths, accidents are all used by the cabal as cover stories for what it actually is: assassination. They do show a little more imagination in these methods (Stories 4, 5, 6) than they do with false flags but, once a bit of background is uncovered, their machinations are obvious. Put together with the ongoing revelations of secret technology and sci-fi type toys that they possess (Story 7), circumstantial evidence now becomes a lot more believable.

With Michael Hastings the background emerging now fits in completely with known whistleblower assassinations. He was working on a story involving the CIA and leftovers from the Patraeus affair implicating the FBI.(Story 8) He said the FBI was investigating him, both in an email to colleagues (Story 9) and to Jennifer Robinson, a Wikileaks lawyer (Story 10) on June 17, and that he “needed to go off the radar for a bit”. Remembering his last big expose of the CIA resulted in the resignation of Gen Stanley McChrystal, (Story 11) he was told by CIA staffers that “We’ll hunt you down and kill you if we don’t like what you write.” (Story 12)

The story the public is told is that his Mercedes crashed into a tree at high speed and exploded into flames which made his body unidentifiable. (Story 13) Skeptics jumped all over this because “No matter how you slice this particular pie, a Mercedes is not just going to explode into flames without a little assistance,” writes freelance journalist Jim Stone. (Story 14) Taking a look at the photos posted on the site as well as the details pointed out, this does not look anywhere near the accident scene described by mainstream news.

Some, like Jim Stone, are advocates of a remote-control feature of all cars that is kept secret from the public. (Story 15)

Some speak of a lethal dart used by the CIA that can be fired into one’s body causing death and leaving no trace. (Story 16) This could account for the car seeming to run out of control headlong into a tree.

Some say that Hastings was killed beforehand and his body placed in the car. (Story 17)

Some say that it was a bomb exploded in the car, not the crash, that engulfed it in flames. (Story 18) The vehicle’s engine was found 100 feet away, seemingly virtually intact and unscathed, along a wide debris field. (Story 19) A debris field which you wouldn’t think would result from a crash into a tree.

This video was literally torn apart for idiosyncracies and bloopers supposedly showing manipulations covering up a fake crash. Loudlabs themselves are being criticized for being a disinfo/CIA/psy-ops type front. (Story 20)

No matter how you view it, Michael Hastings’ death is suspicious. Given his background, his historical reporting, his latest investigation, what he was told by CIA staffers and his last email and actions, it is very easy to believe he was assassinated. Given what we already know about the CIA and it’s devious underhandedness, former whistleblowers’ murders, the secret weapons and their ability to subvert others to do (and then mis-report on) their dirty work, it is VERY easy to believe he was assassinated.

Wikileaks has tweeted that, “Michael Hastings death has a very serious non-public complication. We will have more details later.” (Story 21) I wonder what that ‘complication’ could be.

As always, use your own discernment and do your own research.

Edward Snowden Leaves Hong Kong for Moscow

NSA whistleblower left on Aeroflot flight to Moscow, Hong Kong government confirms, two days after US charged him with espionage.

By Tania Branigan in Hong Kong and Miriam Elder in Moscow, The Guardian – June 23, 2013

http://tinyurl.com/k5f5x9a

NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden has flown out of Hong Kong, where he had been in hiding since identifying himself as the source of revelations on US surveillance programmes – despite a US request for his arrest.

The 30-year-old had previously said he would stay in the city and fight for his freedom in the courts. But the Hong Kong government confirmed that he left on Sunday, two days after the US announced it had charged him with espionage, saying documents filed by the US did not fully comply with legal requirements. It also said it was requesting clarification from Washington on Snowden’s claims that the US had hacked targets in the territory.

Snowden had been at a safe house since 10 June, when he checked out of his hotel after giving an interview to the Guardian outing himself as the source who leaked top secret documents.

Hong Kong’s decision to allow him to leave comes a day after the US sought to turn up the pressure on the territory to hand him over, with a senior administration official telling the Washington Post: “If Hong Kong doesn’t act soon, it will complicate our bilateral relations and raise questions about Hong Kong’s commitment to the rule of law.”

Sunday’s statement from the Hong Kong authorities said: “Mr Edward Snowden left Hong Kong today (June 23) of his own accord for a third country through a lawful and normal channel.

“The US Government earlier on made a request to the HKSAR [Hong Kong special administrative region] Government for the issue of a provisional warrant of arrest against Mr Snowden. Since the documents provided by the US Government did not fully comply with the legal requirements under Hong Kong law, the HKSAR Government has requested the US Government to provide additional information so that the Department of Justice could consider whether the US Government’s request can meet the relevant legal conditions. As the HKSAR Government has yet to have sufficient information to process the request for provisional warrant of arrest, there is no legal basis to restrict Mr Snowden from leaving Hong Kong.

“The HKSAR Government has already informed the US Government of Mr Snowden’s departure.

“Meanwhile, the HKSAR Government has formally written to the US Government requesting clarification on earlier reports about the hacking of computer systems in Hong Kong by US government agencies. The HKSAR Government will continue to follow up on the matter so as to protect the legal rights of the people of Hong Kong.”

According to the South China Morning Post he boarded an Aeroflot flight to Moscow, although the newspaper said Russia was not his ultimate destination. It suggested he might go to Ecuador or Iceland – having cited the latter as a possible refuge in an interview with the Guardian.

The newspaper claimed he took off from the airport at 10.55am on flight SU213 on Sunday morning and was due to arrive at Moscow’s Shermetyevo International Airport at 5.15pm.

It added that the Russian embassy in Beijing would neither confirm nor deny he was on a flight to Moscow and the Russian consulate in Hong Kong declined to comment.

Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Russian president Vladimir Putin, said: “I don’t [know if he's planning to stay in Moscow]. I heard about the potential [arrival] from the press. I know nothing.”

On whether Moscow would still consider a request for asylum from Snowden: “Every application is considered so it’s standard procedure … We are not tracing his movements and I know nothing.”

US authorities could not be reached for comment immediately.

WikiLeaks said on its Twitter feed that it had “assisted Mr Snowden’s political asylum in a democratic country, travel papers and safe exit from Hong Kong”.

On Friday, an Icelandic businessman linked to WikiLeaks told Reuters he had prepared a private plane for Snowden’s use if the government was willing to give him asylum.

“A private jet is in place in China and we could fly Snowden over tomorrow if we get positive reaction from the interior ministry. We need to get confirmation of asylum and that he will not be extradited to the US. We would most want him to get a citizenship as well,” said Olafur Vignir Sigurvinsson, a director of DataCell, which processed payments for WikiLeaks.

The Icelandic government has declined to say whether it would grant asylum to Snowden and pointed out that he would need to apply in person.

Snowden has said he did not travel direct to Iceland from the US because he feared the small country could be put under pressure by Washington.

Lawyers have said the legal battle for Snowden’s surrender could last for years, particularly if he argued that he should not be returned because his offence was political. But they had also warned that in the long run he was unlikely to prove successful.

Stephen: A major cleanse of nature’s energies can happen in many ways, so it may not be just a coincidence that India, Canada and France are all currently facing torrential deluges.

For each, the significant impact is relative to what the local people and their region are used to and how accessible (and funded) both they and emergency care are.

Our hearts go out to everyone who is facing such calamity at this time.

Death Toll from Indian Floods 1000 and Rising

From Al-Jazeera – June 24, 2013

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/asia/2013/06/201362465625349861.html

Army officials said bad weather has hampered efforts to evacuate thousands of people stranded in northern India where nearly 1,000 people are reported dead in monsoon flooding and landslides.

Officials and authorities in the affected state of Uttarakhand on Sunday said the death toll could rise, with the one minister telling Al Jazeera’s Sohail Rahman that the number could be up to 5,000.

Brigadier Uma Maheshwar said on Sunday that the army had suspended helicopter flights to rescue people stranded in the state after dense fog descended on the Himalayan region.

Instead, troops built makeshift bridges and people were being brought to safety by road.

Thousands of people were still stranded in remote mountain valleys in Uttarakhand, a popular pilgrimage destination, trapped in up to 100 towns and villages cut off since Sunday.

Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said that 34,000 people have been evacuated so far but 50,000 were still stranded in the region.

Al Jazeera’s Sohail Rahman, reporting from Dehradun, the Uttrakhand state capital, said that there are villages that are completely submerged and that access to roadways is becoming a major issue for the military, who are in the process of clearing it up.

Kedarnath Temple

Uttrakhand government spokesman Amit Chandola said the rescue operation centered on evacuating nearly 27,000 people trapped in the worst-hit Kedarnath temple area – one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva.

The temple escaped major damage, but debris covered the area around it and television images showed the bodies of pilgrims strewn around the area.

More than 2,000 vehicles carrying stranded Hindu pilgrims have moved out of the area since late on Thursday, he said.

Thirty-six air force helicopters had been ferrying rescue workers, doctors, equipment, food and medicine to Kedarnath, the town closest to many of those stranded, said Priya Joshi, an air force spokeswoman.

Zubin Zaman, humanitarian programme manager for Oxfam India, told Al Jazeera from Kolkata that there was still a lack of drinking water, food aid and power, and that the scale of response from the government needed to be improved.

Another seven aircraft carried paratroopers and fuel to the region.

Hundreds of people looking for relatives demonstrated in Dehradun where flood survivors were taken by helicopters.

They complained that the government was taking too long to evacuate the survivors, with small helicopters bringing in four to five people at a time.

Jasveer Kaur, a 50-year-old housewife, said she and her family survived by taking shelter in a Sikh shrine, which withstood the flood, located in Govind Dham.

“There was destruction all around,” said Kaur after she was evacuated by an air force helicopter. “It was a nightmare.”

Sehjo Singh, programme and policy director for Action Aid, told Al Jazeera from New Delhi that rescue efforts and media reports are focused on tourists and pilgrims and locals have complained that they are being ignored.

Canada’s Power Supplies Could be Hit for Months by Floods

Floods force 100,000 to flee homes in southern Alberta, where oil industry is in chaos as rains blamed for spilling 750 barrels

Reuters, The Guardian – June 23, 2013

http://www.guardian.co.uk/weather/2013/jun/23/canada-power-supplies-floods

Power cuts in the Canadian oil capital of Calgary could last for weeks or even months, city authorities said on Sunday, after record-breaking floods swept across southern Alberta, killing three people and forcing more than 100,000 to flee their homes.

Some Calgary residents were able to return to sodden homes as rivers dropped and some evacuation orders were lifted. But Bruce Burrell, director of the Calgary Emergency Management Agency, said power restoration in the city centre, where many of Canada’s oil companies have their headquarters, could take days, weeks or even months. Many oil companies were making plans for employees to work from home.

“This is an evolving situation and because of the volatility of electricity and water and the infrastructure that was damaged we have got a lot of issues with restoring power to different parts of the city of Calgary,” Alderman John Mar told CBC radio. “We are facing an absolutely gargantuan task.”

Heavy rains were blamed for the spilling of 750 barrels of synthetic oil from a pipeline about 70km (43 miles) south of Fort McMurray in northern Alberta early on Saturday.

“We are still investigating the cause, however, we believe that unusually heavy rains in the area may have resulted in ground movement on the right-of way that may have impacted the pipeline,” Enbridge, Canada’s largest pipeline company, said in an emailed statement. It has shut two major oil pipelines serving Canada’s oil sands region as a precaution. Provincial authorities said it was too early to count the cost of the flood damage because rivers have not peaked in some places.

The South Saskatchewan River is expected to burst its banks in the city of Medicine Hat in south-east Alberta on Monday. About 10,000 have been evacuated. The floods already look worse than those of 2005, which caused C$400m (£248m) damage in the province.

The floods followed 36 hours of unusually heavy rainfall that pushed the volume of water in rivers to record levels. Some communities received six months of their normal rainfall within two days. Evacuations started on Thursday and the Enmax utility switched off power to central Calgary on Friday afternoon to avoid water damage to its facilities. Troops were used on Sunday morning to shore up the east bank of the Bow River in Calgary and ensure the stability of an Enmax substation.

It was unclear how much crude trading would take place on Monday after little if any trade on Friday.

Shorcan Energy Brokers, which provides live prices for many Canadian crude grades, operated out of Toronto on Friday rather than from Calgary, although there were no trades in Western Canada Select heavy blend or light synthetic crude.

Net Energy Inc, the other main Calgary crude broker, was closed on Friday and no trading took place.

As the Bow and Elbow rivers in Calgary, which during the weekend hit five times their normal flow rate, slowly receded, the scale of the damage became apparent. Roads and pavements were left covered with a layer of thick silt, fallen trees lined the riverbanks and residents pumped dirty brown water out of basements.

Police said three bodies had been found near High River, about 60km south of Calgary.

Flood water covered the grounds of the Calgary Stampede, an annual extravaganza of cows, cowboys and horses scheduled to start on 5 July. City authorities insisted the show would go ahead despite the disruption.

Flooding Damages Lourdes, French Holy Site

By Scott Sayare – June 20, 2013

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/20/world/europe/flooding-damages-lourdes-french-holy-site.html?_r=0

PARIS — The waters of the Christian holy site of Lourdes, reputed for their powers of healing, have been cruel this week.

Snowmelt from the Pyrénées joined with heavy storms to form surging floodwaters in the rivers of southwestern France on Tuesday and Wednesday. The generally tranquil Gave de Pau, which cuts a sharp bend along the edge of Lourdes, rose by as much as 15 feet, officials said, spilling its banks and inundating the celebrated grotto and vast subterranean church there.

Pilgrimages were canceled and hotels evacuated. Officials of the Sanctuary of Notre Dame de Lourdes, a complex of soaring basilicas and chapels on and within the hillside above the grotto, partly closed the site on Tuesday, estimating that the flooding had caused several million dollars’ worth of damages.

And so Lourdes, visited by nearly six million pilgrims every year, many of them looking to be healed of pain and disease, turned to the faithful for financial relief.

“The sanctuary will not recover from the consequences of this natural disaster without the generosity of everyone!” read a mailing released by the sanctuary on Wednesday. The appeal included a mailing address for checks and a link to an online giving portal, as well as the sanctuary’s bank codes, for payment by wire transfer. Insurance is expected to cover much, but not all, of the damages.

“This leaves us quite traumatized,” Mayor Jean-Pierre Artiganave told Agence France-Presse.

The flooding could hardly have come at a less opportune time for Lourdes, whose economy depends heavily on the summer tourist season, when pilgrims — mostly Roman Catholic — from France, the rest of Europe and across the world flock to the holy site. Lourdes, a city of just 15,000, counts nearly 200 hotels, a concentration per square kilometer said to be second in France only to Paris.

Pilgrimages by several thousand faithful were canceled Wednesday and for the coming days, sanctuary and city officials said, though Masses were still being celebrated in the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception above the cave. At least 1,000 other pilgrims were evacuated from hotels in the city center, according to Mr. Artiganave; floodwaters had swelled to “centennial” levels and reached the second story of some hotels along the banks of the Gave de Pau, Mr. Artiganave told the Paris newspaper Le Figaro.

Floodwaters in the region have killed two people in their 70s, destroyed roads and forced the evacuation of nearly 3,000 from their homes, according to Interior Minister Manuel Valls, who traveled to Lourdes on Wednesday. About 7,000 residents remained without electricity on Wednesday evening, French news media reported.

The grotto, which reportedly filled with as much as five feet of water this week, is among the most visited pilgrimage sites in the Roman Catholic faith. It became known as a place of miracles after several reports of apparitions of the Virgin Mary there in 1858.

The Catholic Church has now recognized 68 official miracles at Lourdes; 49 of those involve drinking or bathing in the spring water that flows into the cave. (Bottles of Lourdes water can be ordered from the sanctuary; buyers pay only for shipping and handling.) A television station, TV Lourdes, generally provides a live video feed from the cave. It was forced to cease broadcasting on Tuesday evening, however, when the electricity was cut.

Less violent floodwaters damaged the grotto last October, though they did not reach the underground Basilica of St. Pius X. That flooding caused about $3 million in damages, paid largely by donations from the faithful.

“The damage is much more significant than in 2012,” the sanctuary reported on its Web site, calling the situation a “catastrophe.”

“It is impossible to put numbers on it for the moment, but we fear the worst.”

Cleanup work had begun by Wednesday evening, when the waters began to recede, officials said, and in the early evening the sanctuary issued its call for donations.

“Lourdes has one element of good luck,” Mayor Artiganave said. “It’s that the world is generous with Lourdes. When Lourdes is in trouble — we saw it in October — people respond.”

sage: It’s amazing the impact a viral video or video series can have. Not only does it get the point across directly to the viewer but it also boosts the morale – and therefore the energy – of all who watch it and identify with it. Following on the heels of the Sirius Movie, HopeGirl’s Fix the World, I Know My Galactic Family is Here, Do You?, and in the manner of the many global meditations happening, comes the Monsanto Video Revolt. I reckon it also has the capability of doing some moving and shaking in it’s own right.

By Anthony Gucciardi, Natural Society – June 17, 2013

http://naturalsociety.com/grassroots-campaign-monsanto-video-revolt-monsanto-july-24th/

With the tremendous success of recent grassroots activism against the mad scientist corporation known as Monsanto, I am teaming up with Mike Adams of NaturalNews and Dr Edward Group of Global Healing Center in announcing a massive new online campaign that is aimed at bringing the fight against Monsanto to a whole new level online.

On July 24 (and even before then), we are calling for all concerned citizens, those who just want to eat real food that’s not polluted with GMOs, activists, and others to create and upload a video of any length telling Monsanto why you stand against their control of the food supply and mutation of crops worldwide.

The Monsanto Video Revolt is a manifestation of resistance against the GMO juggernaut that is Monsanto and its attempt at genetically manipulating every piece of food on your dinner table.

We’ve seen a lot of successes lately against Monsanto (namely the March Against Monsanto), as well as an increased overall awareness that has sprung up against Monsanto and GMOs at large. It’s time to utilize the free platform of the internet to not only ensure that our voice is heard, but to demand that politicians turn activism into legislation. States are coming out to draft and enact GMO labeling legislation like never before, but it’s essential that we push legislators to get the job done or get out.

Amazingly, we’re already seeing a large degree of support for the Monsanto Video Revolt, with RT announcing the campaign internationally and posting my announcement on their #1 news Youtube channel which holds over 1 billion views.

The Monsanto Video Revolt Is On

For too long have we allowed those who we voted for to choose corporate interest over public desires and public health. In the past I have published an extensive list of politicians paid off by Monsanto, and let it be known that the list is just the very tip of the iceberg. Monsanto’s tentacles within the United States government and beyond extend so far and so deep that our very taxpayer dollars are now funding their expansion overseas. We’re talking about taxpayer dollars going into the purchase of marketing DVDs and pamphlets for Monsanto.

The madness needs to end, and we’re going to ensure that it does. Through peaceful revolution, the Monsanto Video Revolt will make major waves. Because if we lose the integrity of our food, if we lose the bees responsible for virtually all major food items on the planet, what else do we have? What good will the dirty cash do?

I encourage you to get the word out on this grassroots campaign against Monsanto, as it may be the final proverbial stake into the barely-beating heart of Monsanto. Whether you are a reader with your own website and blog, your own Youtube channel, or even just a reader with a webcam and a Facebook page — it’s essential that you answer this call to arms against Monsanto and GMOs by uploading your videos before and on July 24th to all of the major video websites.

How to Join In

Being a part of this historical revolt against Monsanto is extremely simple, and absolutely anyone can be on the right side of history in this campaign against corporate corruption and genetic manipulation. Joining in can be broken down into 3 extremely simple steps:

Step 1: Create your video of any length telling the world why you are against Monsanto and their GMOs with ‘Monsanto Video Revolt’ in the title.

Step 2: Upload your video to all of the major video websites like Youtube, Vimeo, and NaturalNews.tv (where it won’t be censored and we will have a livestream).

Step 3: Blast out your video, spread the word via Facebook and send it out to your local and state politicians as well as Monsanto executives.

It’s extremely simple and everyone can join in. We are also encouraging everyone who uploads their videos to share them with us through the Monsanto Video Revolt Facebook page.

Online Revolution Cannot be Censored by Mainstream Media

Perhaps the best part about the Monsanto Video Revolt is that it takes the fight online in a major way that has never been done before, therefore eliminating the major problem of mainstream media censorship. For example, I am a huge proponent of the March Against Monsanto, but the mainstream media simply chose to not send a camera crew to cover the event. I even went with a camera crew of my own to the march in Philadelphia while travelling and was the only one with a news team at the whole event.

Physical protest events are great and should continue to go on as an integral piece of the revolutionary puzzle against Monsanto, but bringing the fight online enables us to reach millions with just a few clicks. Instead of having all of the event that the cameras don’t pick up at physical protests go down the memory hole, we will have millions around the internet being exposed to this barrage of Monsanto Video Revolt uploads who may have otherwise never cared. People who may turn out to be activists and individuals who accelerate change on a whole new scale.

Be a part of the Monsanto Video Revolt, and tell Monsanto it’s time to get out of the world’s food supply. It’s time to stop Monsanto’s conveyor belt of disease-breeding GM creations before it’s too late.

Video: Why Brazil Doesn’t Want the World Cup

Thanks to Amy in Brazil who writes:

This short video is a great intro/overview of what has been happening behind the scenes in Brazil, much of it in preparation for hosting the World Cup and the Olympics.

The people there, especially in Rio, are challenging the decisions made for spending so much money on these sporting events, to make Brazil be “presentable” to the world, when millions in the country are suffering for the usual reasons – hunger, health, education, indigenous displacement, and more.
