Hi, David!
I, too, have used the vinegar and honey water and it does help with heartburn. My grandmother drank a 12-oz glass of this combination in warm water every day of her long, healthy life.
She also would steep cut-up grapefruit in boiling water until it cooled, mash the liquid out of it through a potato ricer and then strain the liquid to make "grapefruit tea" for colds and flu. I've since learned that grapefruit rind contains quinine, which would of course reduce the fever. It's a very bitter drink, but I actually like it! However, I never get a cold or the flu, so there's no reason to make it.
Do you know how the alcohol and/or vinegar react with hair coloring? I wouldn't want to rid myself of that!
