Strange Money #3: Pay to Surf
11/9/2005 12:59:36 PM
Hi: In the Strange Ways to Make Money thread, I told you that I'm looking at some of the other "profit programs" out there to try add some light and logic to what's being promoted on the web, and here at Adland, too. The "paypal randomizer" thread was great and informative. Winston scored the winning post for checking the Paypal site. Can we do it again? Topic: Pay to Surf -- Have you made any significant money with "pay to surf" programs? -- What do you think of them? PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT talking about "autosurf" where you use software to send hits to a site. I am talking about the programs where you actually VISIT a website and see it with your own eyeballs and get paid for every link that you click and visit. Thoughts? Any profit? : ) Linda P.S. Here's a new challenge. If anyone sends you a friends request or message that has a "pay to surf" link in the sig file, ask them to come over and tell us how it's working. Let's get this place buzzing!

Linda, I think I remember seeing a post in another forum from a lady who is doing this on a specific site. I'll try to remember which forum and find her in case she doesn't otherwise see this forum. Wish I could remember more details, but at the moment it's fuzzy. I belong to a program called Paid In-box Dollars, mostly because I haven't figured out how to get them to stop sending mail. Last summer I signed up to a program that sent emails with links on where to take paid surveys. This appears to be a similar deal to those surveys, which were a big waste of time. Yes, you can get paid to take the survey, or can get a very nice gift. Trouble is, once you start a survey you keep getting led to another page, then another, then another and having to sign up for all these offers to continue to your "gift". The last page usually has nothing but high-ticket items on it. The only way to complete your survey and get the "gift" is to spend more money than you want to on something, using your credit card. If you spent as much time flipping burgers as doing these things, at least you'd make minimum wage! I haven't tried Paid to Surf programs, and frankly don't have time to surf anyway. Seems like a lot of time spent on making not much money. But I see so many posts in this community that the person would like to participate in this or that opportunity and don't have the funds. If this type of program is legitimate, would love to send those folks here to see where to go to get their start. Cheri

Had to come back to eat my words. In strange synchronicity, the next email was from Paid InBox Dollars. This time found the unsubscribe link and clicked it. It took me to my account page and asked me was I sure, because would forfeit earnings. Found earnings tab. Have made $6.44. Whaddaya know?! Guess it's not too much trouble to click on it and then delete... Cheri

Hi, Linda, I don't know if StudioTraffic.com falls under the 'pay to surf programs', but it sure sounds like. Did I make any money with StudioTraffic? The last time I checked I had earned a little over $8.00, and that I returned in upgrades. I viewed--or should I say my computer viewed--over two hundred (200) websites per day for three or more months before I earned that amount. They aren't using false advertising when they say you get pay to surf because you do. But the only way I figure you get to see the money is on your computer screen. Did I learn anything from my experience? Yes, of course, I learned a lot. Stay the hell away from 'pay to surf programs'! You can make more playing a sax at night on a street corner in George Town in Washington, DC. Thank God for my experience with StudioTraff.com. I paid in time to learn that I can only make a very little money from that website. You can view some FREE websites that I believe will allow me to earn a great deal more money. They are located at: http://my.searchestate.com/uws/mn2310573 Thank you for allowing me to air my experience and my hopes. Sincerely, LeBaron Washington

Hi Cheryl and Linda, I believe our Adland friend that surfs for cash is Felicia. could be wrong. I'll check and see if she's on my friends list. Good luck, Angela
