A big kid at heart with my favourite playground being Disneyland.
Well I'm sorry to say that my time at High school was not a pleasant one. I attended a rough boys school in the city of Exeter and was bullied throughout my time there, needless to say the happiest day of school was the day I left! That was the year of 1976 and here in the UK we were experiencing a dramatic heatwave.
I wanted to join the Royal Air Force but failed the medical (world came tumbling down) so went to college to further my education (and have some good old college fun!) During the term I found myself a temporary job (two and a half years) working in an electrical store as a trainee sales manager. This was to be a good insight into what the world was really about. Had lots of fun and earnt some cash along the way.
So it was time for a long term career and enter the ambulance service. 26 years ago I joined the ambulance service and I'm still hanging on today with a good pension in prospect. I have seen all forms of life (and death!) and some pretty horrific scenes as you can imagine and this was to shape my outlook on life today.
Now my positive mental attitude comes from one company who I used to work for called Amway. For me Amway shaped the way we do network marketing today. Now as a distributor with Amway you have access to a first class training system for self development. So I attended Seminars read books and listened to audio tapes on a regular basis and that's shaped my attitude to what it is today. Without it I would have gone under into deep depression I think. The crazy thing is I didn't make much money with Amway (the system works...I didn't!)
Life started to happen for me and I did things I would never have dreamt of doing. Facing fears, going for interviews, mixing with total strangers and getting to know them, gaining more confidence and the list goes on and on.
I decided to share my ideas on a personal website which in the early days was just a page of text and a pretty basic website. Now it has grown into the WELCOME PEOPLE OF THE WORLD community it is today. I love my work on the website and all the contacts I've made from around the world. I've created a webring for like minded people and joined many newsletters from other wonderful positive sites. All my computer work is self taught. My ideas come from scanning the web and getting inspiration from such greats as Jeff Keller and Napoleon Hill to name just a few.
So no mention of qualifications, no list of initials after my name. I do have many many qualifications in Healthcare but I won't bore you with them. But hey, I have the right attitude and in my book that counts for a large portion of the main ingredients for a successful life. Yes you need a basic education but also with a winning positive attitude you can achieve wonderful things every single day of your life.
Recent additions to my life journey are Herbalife International and Adland.com. My journey continues onward and upwards with excitement and fun.
I am hear with you Linda because I adore this community and all it brings. I am always looking to improve myself and never stop learning.
